What are the signs of low IQ in children

Every parent hopes that their baby will be healthy and smart, so they pay close attention to everything about the baby when they become pregnant. When the baby talks, crawls and walks later than other children of the same age, parents should not think that the baby is lazy and learns slowly. Sometimes the occurrence of these situations may be a manifestation of the baby's IQ problem. The following are the symptoms of low IQ in children.

1. Not able to laugh or only laugh very late.

Normal babies will laugh at 2 months old and can laugh out loud at 4 months old. If a baby only smiles at 3 months old, rarely smiles at 6 months old, or cannot smile at 1 year old, it is a sign of mental retardation.

2. Eye function is not fully developed

Generally speaking, one-month-old babies will use their eyes to pay attention to the surrounding environment, while mentally retarded babies will not pay attention to the people or things around them.

3. Poor response to sound

He didn't seem to respond to the sounds made by adults nearby and seemed to be particularly "obedient". The baby cries less often, sometimes only screams, or cries weakly. The baby is not likely to cry or is difficult to cry in response to external stimuli that could easily cause crying.

4. Late chewing and difficulty feeding

Difficulty swallowing solid food and causing vomiting. Drooling is normal for children under one year old, but if drooling continues after one year old, it is a cause for concern.

5. Clumsy movements, babies like to play with their hands

It is normal if a child can do it at 3 to 5 months after birth, but still cannot play with hands after 6 months or likes to put toys in his mouth at 2 to 3 years old. The child's actions are childish, and even after he learns to walk, he still kicks his feet around. There are many aimless activities and adults are not clear about the children's intentions.

6. Lack of concentration

Indifferent to external things, or even if interested, it is only short-lived and the reaction is slow. Their abilities are relatively low, and their language ability, thinking ability, memory ability, calculation ability, and analytical and comparative ability are all worse than those of children of the same age.
