What are the typical symptoms of meridian blockage?

Meridian blockage is a category of traditional Chinese medicine. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, if the meridians are blocked, it will lead to a variety of symptoms. Of course, there are many meridians in the human body. For example, if the Ren meridian is blocked, it will also cause irregular menstruation for women, and for men, it will cause decreased libido, impotence and premature ejaculation. If the Du channel is blocked, it will often cause symptoms such as coldness, cold hands and feet, fatigue, and imbalance of yin and yang.

1. Ren Meridian

Common symptoms: fear of heat, excessive sweating, imbalance of yin and yang, irregular menstruation; impotence, frigidity, indigestion, chest congestion and asthma. If the blood and Qi of the Ren meridian are out of harmony, various diseases of the anterior vagina may occur, such as hernia, abnormal leucorrhea, irregular menstruation, infertility, and difficulty urinating.

2. Governor Vessel

Common symptoms: coldness, fear of cold, cold hands and feet, fatigue, cervical pain, lumbar pain, hemorrhoids, constipation, and imbalance of yin and yang. Closely related to the spinal cord and brain. Excessive symptoms include stiffness and opisthotonos of the spine, etc.; insufficient symptoms include dizziness, etc.

3. Lung Meridian

Common symptoms: fear of wind, easy sweating, dry throat and cough; allergic rhinitis, dry skin and easy allergies; shortness of breath, chest congestion and dull complexion when moving.

Positive symptoms: fever, sweating, wheezing and coughing, excessive sputum, bronchial asthma, blood congestion and headache, soreness in the back and shoulders, tight shoulder muscles, and pain in the palms that cannot be touched.

Deficiency syndrome: chills, cold sweats, rhinitis, dry throat, pain in the collarbone and chest, numbness or coldness in the extremities, abnormal skin conditions, insomnia, changes in complexion, cough and hoarseness.

4. Large Intestine Meridian

Common symptoms: toothache, headache, dry mouth, skin allergies; blue veins and spots, weakened gastrointestinal function; periarthritis of the shoulder and chronic pharyngitis.

Positive symptoms: constipation, abdominal distension and pain, headache, pain in shoulders and forearms, finger pain, body heat, dry mouth, worse in hot conditions.

Deficiency symptoms: diarrhea, dizziness, upper limb weakness, cold body, skin abnormalities (rash, itching, pharyngitis), mild cough.

5. Stomach Meridian

Common symptoms: sore throat, stomachache, heat intolerance, indigestion; fatigue, knee joint pain, constipation; dry lips and tongue, and weight loss.

Positive symptoms: excitement, body heat, abdominal distension, hiccups, constipation, increased appetite, stomach cramps, excessive stomach acid, cleft lip, pain and cramps in the legs along the meridians.

Deficiency syndrome: abdominal pain or diarrhea or vomiting after meals, weakened digestive power, insufficient stomach acid, depression, excessive salivation, and fatigue in the lower limbs.

6. Spleen Meridian

Common symptoms: abdominal distension, poor absorption, and loss of appetite; easy vomiting, fatigue, and puffiness; headache, confusion, dampness, swollen feet, and loose stools; and sore and swollen joints due to diabetes.

7. Heart Sutra

Common symptoms: feeling upset, frightened, palpitations, stuffy heart and heart pain; shortness of breath, feeling stressed, depressed and irritable; oral ulcers, dry mouth and bad breath.

Positive symptoms: palpitations after exercise, dyspnea, pale complexion, feeling of oppression under stress, depression, numbness of the inner shoulder, and dizziness caused by insufficient blood circulation.

Deficiency syndrome: chest pain, pain in shoulders and forearms, heaviness in the joints, chest tightness, dry mouth, possible fever, and a feeling of excitement.
