How to use a thermometer

A thermometer is a tool used to measure body temperature, and many families have thermometers. We can control body temperature well, understand the body's condition, and make our body healthier. But don’t underestimate the small size of a thermometer. Its use is quite complicated. It is not a simple clip to measure body temperature. Many people do not actually know how to use a thermometer. Next, I will explain to you how to use a thermometer.

1. If there is sweat under the armpits, wipe it off before measuring. If the measurement time has not arrived and you release your armpit, you need to measure again and the time should be recalculated.

2. Before measuring body temperature, any factors that may affect the actual body temperature (such as drinking boiled water or cold drinks, etc.) should be avoided. Wait 30 minutes after drinking hot drinks, strenuous exercise, emotional excitement or taking a bath before measuring.

3. The highest temperature value of the glass thermometer is 42 ℃. Therefore, the temperature should not exceed 42°C during storage or cleaning. The thermometer should not be placed in hot water for cleaning or used to measure the temperature of water or other objects.

4. Glass thermometers are easy to break. There is a possibility of mercury contamination, so parents must keep it properly, handle it with care, and avoid excessive vibration. Once a thermometer is damaged, it is strictly forbidden to continue using it. It should be treated urgently according to the correct method and the mercury should be recovered to prevent poisoning and environmental pollution.
