My belly button hurts when I’m pregnant

During pregnancy, women will experience various symptoms, for example, many women will experience belly button pain. This is most likely a symptom caused by bloating, which is also a relatively normal symptom. If this symptom occurs, you just need to regulate your body in time. In addition, during pregnancy, you should also have regular prenatal check-ups and pay attention to nutrition during pregnancy!

1. Why does my belly button hurt during pregnancy?

Generally, in the early stages of pregnancy, there will be swelling and pain in the lower abdomen, and bloating. This is normal. If the pain is around the navel, it may be caused by some gastrointestinal discomfort or late or unclean food. It is recommended not to worry, observe for two more days, and drink some warm water appropriately. It is also possible that it is caused by excessive nervous tension.

2. Regular prenatal check-ups

In order to understand the development of the fetus and your own physical condition in a timely manner, pregnant women should undergo regular prenatal checkups. Antenatal check-up is a special examination performed on pregnant women by an obstetrician. Starting from early pregnancy, pregnant women should have a check-up once a month; after 28 weeks of pregnancy, check-up once every 2 weeks; after 36 weeks, check-up once a week. If any abnormalities are found during the examination, you should see a doctor immediately.

3. Nutrition during pregnancy

Pregnant women need a balanced and reasonable nutrition: a combination of labor and vegetables, coarse and fine foods, a moderate hunger and fullness, and no partial or picky eating habits. They should also determine the amount of intake and dietary focus based on their personal activity level, physical condition, and pre-pregnancy weight. Eat enough high-quality protein. Protein is an important nutrient for the human body. It participates in the formation of fetal tissues and organs, regulates important physiological functions, enhances the mother's resistance, and maintains fetal brain development. Therefore, the intake of meat, eggs, milk, and legumes should be increased in the diet to ensure the supply of high-quality protein.

Don’t think that you can take any supplements you want during pregnancy and just buy some supplements from the market. Some nutritional supplements are not suitable for consumption during pregnancy. If taken, they may lead to adverse consequences, such as ginseng and longan. Nutritional supplements during pregnancy also need to be used under the guidance of a doctor or nutritionist.
