Hepatitis B virus, beware of these four transmission routes

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a common liver disease. In addition to the patients themselves carrying the pathogen, it can also be transmitted and contagious through most groups and parts of the body. The most common methods are mother-to-child transmission, sexual transmission, blood transmission, and food transmission. These four transmission methods require special attention, and patients themselves must also take good care of themselves.

What are the transmission routes of Hepatitis B?

1. Blood transmission: Healthy people can be infected through transfusion of blood, plasma or other blood products infected with the hepatitis B virus, or through the use of poorly sterilized medical equipment. Such as syringes, infusion sets, surgical instruments, razors, etc.

2. Mother-to-child transmission: The mother is a carrier of the hepatitis B virus, and no medication is taken to block the infection during pregnancy, or there is no physical examination, and the mother is not found to be carrying the hepatitis B virus. It is transmitted to the baby during delivery through the amniotic fluid, birth canal and when the baby's skin is broken. Generally, more than 90% of mothers with hepatitis B "big or small triple positive" will transmit the virus to their babies; the probability of transmission with "small triple positive" is relatively small.

3. Transmission through sexual intercourse: When one spouse is a carrier of the hepatitis B virus, the virus is present in large quantities in the fluid, semen and vaginal secretions. The virus is most easily transmitted to the other person when the two people kiss and have sexual intercourse, or when the skin of the genitals is damaged or there are oral ulcers.

4. Food transmission : If you eat with a person who carries the hepatitis B virus, or use poorly disinfected tableware, the virus can enter the digestive tract of a healthy person through food.
