The treatment method is to strengthen the spleen and replenish Qi, eliminate dampness and open the orifices. Prescription: Shenling Baizhu powder with added ingredients: Codonopsis pilosula 15g, Chinese yam 12g, Atractylodes macrocephala 12g, Poria 15g, Coix seed 15g, Lentil 15g, Amomum villosum 10g, Tangerine peel 10g, Platycodon grandiflorum 10g. For those with blood deficiency, add Rehmannia glutinosa 15g, Angelica sinensis 12g, White Peony Root 12g, Chuanxiong 12g.

Lung and kidney yin deficiency: dry burning in the nose, decreased sense of smell, atrophy of the nasal mucosa, shrunken nasal concha, wide nasal cavity, many yellow-green crusts, or a small amount of epistaxis, often accompanied by itchy throat and dry cough, fever in the five hearts, weak speech; red tongue with little coating, thin and rapid pulse, etc., which are symptoms of lung and kidney yin deficiency. Its treatment should be aimed at nourishing the lungs and kidneys, moistening dryness and opening the orifices. Prescription: Lily Gujin Decoction with modifications: Raw Rehmannia 20g, Cooked Rehmannia 20g, Ophiopogon 15g, White Peony 15g, Scrophularia 10g, Angelica 10g, Lilium 10g, Fritillaria 10g, Platycodon 6g, Licorice 6g. If the nasal mucosa is severely atrophied, add Asparagus cochinchinensis, Polygonatum sibiricum, and donkey-hide gelatin.

Yin deficiency and blood stasis: dry nose, nasal congestion, extreme atrophy of nasal mucosa, repeated unsuccessful treatments, loss of smell; dark red tongue with petechiae, little coating, and thin and wiry pulse. The treatment is aimed at nourishing yin and blood, removing blood stasis and promoting new blood. The prescription is Guishao Honghua Powder with modifications: 15g of raw rehmannia root, 15g of cooked rehmannia root, 12g of yam, 12g of wolfberry, 12g of peach kernel, 10g of safflower, 12g of red peony root, 15g of angelica root, 15g of salvia miltiorrhiza, and 6g of liquorice. If there is a lot of mucus and scab accumulation and nasal odor, add 15g of Plantago seed and 15g of Poria. The external medicine can be used as nasal drops to moisten the muscles, restore atrophy, and benefit the nose and open the orifices. 60g each of Xanthium sibiricum, Angelica dahurica, Magnolia officinalis, 6g borneol powder, 5g peppermint frost, 500ml sesame oil, 1000ml liquid paraffin. Preparation method: Put Xanthium sibiricum, Angelica dahurica, Magnolia officinalis and oil in a pot, soak for 24h, heat, and remove when the medicine turns black and yellow, then add borneol, peppermint frost and liquid paraffin, stir well, filter after cooling, and divide into bottles for later use. Usage: Nasal drops, 2 drops each time, 2 times a day. Function: Clears away heat and reduces swelling, has a fragrant aroma that penetrates the body's orifices. Suitable for nasal mucosal congestion, dryness and atrophy, nasal congestion and runny nose, loss of smell, etc.

4. Yin deficiency and lung dryness: dry nose without mucus, decreased sense of smell, red and dry nasal mucosa, mild atrophy and bleeding, shrunken nasal concha, itchy throat, dry cough with little sputum; red tongue with little coating, and thin and rapid pulse. The treatment is aimed at nourishing yin and moistening the lungs, moistening dryness and nourishing the nose. The prescription is Yangyin Qingfei Decoction with modifications. Medicinal use: 15g of Radix Rehmanniae, 15g of Radix Ophiopogonis, 12g of Radix Scrophulariae, 15g of Radix Adenophorae, 12g of Radix Paeoniae Alba, 12g of Cortex Moutan, 12g of Fritillariae Chuanxiong, 6g of Radix Glycyrrhizae Preparata. If it is easy to cause epistaxis, add 15g of Imperatae Rhizoma.
