What are the symptoms of erythematous nevus?

A mole is a type of pigmentation that grows on everyone's body. People don't feel anything about it, and it doesn't cause any abnormalities in the body. Therefore, most people tend to ignore moles. However, there is a kind of mole that is unhealthy, that is, erythematous nevus. This kind of mole is caused by skin diseases and will have a great impact on the body. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of erythematous nevus.

The early stage of port-wine stain (telangiectatic nevus) is a number of light red, dark red or purple-red patches of varying sizes with irregular shapes, clear boundaries, and no protrusions above the skin surface. Capillary dilation can be seen, which partially or completely fade when pressed and have a smooth surface. With age, the color deepens to red and then purple. In 65% of patients, the lesions will gradually expand, thicken and form nodules before the age of 40, and are prone to bleeding after trauma. Port wine stain (telangiectatic nevus) is a relatively flat and rarely raised plaque composed of dilated capillaries. It is a congenital capillary malformation. The area of the lesion increases accordingly as the body grows and does not disappear throughout life.

Disease symptoms:

1. The color of port-wine stains

The symptoms of port-wine stains are red spots on the skin that are present at birth. The color of the lesions can be pink, bright red, purple (dark red) and other shades of red, and they do not protrude above the surface of the skin. In most clinical cases, there is no discoloration or increase in skin temperature during pressure examination, but there are a few exceptions. As the patient ages, the geometry of the lesions usually does not change, and they increase in proportion to the location.

2. Systemic symptoms of port-wine stains

The color of most lesions deepens year by year, and there is no clinical phenomenon of spontaneous regression. Most patients have no complaints of discomfort, and very few have abnormal sweating or abnormal sensation. Generally there is no obvious functional impairment, but a few people may have corresponding limb and brain symptoms due to various syndromes.

3. Epidemiology of port-wine stains

The symptoms of port-wine stains deepen in color to red and purple with age. In 65% of patients, the lesions will gradually expand, thicken and form nodules before the age of 40, and are prone to bleeding after trauma. Port wine stain is a relatively flat and rarely raised plaque composed of countless dilated capillaries.
