What causes stomach cramps?

Gastric spasm is commonly known as stomach muscle spasm, which is mainly manifested by nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, etc. I believe that many people do not know why they have stomach spasm. In fact, there are many reasons for stomach spasm, such as overeating, gastritis, cold, etc. Let me explain to you what stomach cramps are.

Scraping therapy for gastric spasm and acute gastritis Introduction Gastric spasm and acute gastritis are both common diseases of epigastric pain in traditional Chinese medicine. The causes of these diseases are similar, all of which are caused by cold evil invading the stomach, improper diet, emotional imbalance, liver qi stagnation, yin deficiency in the body, and external cold. The common pathogenesis of these diseases is qi stagnation and failure to harmonize and descend, so the same scraping method can be used to treat them. The stomach is the sea of water and grain, and is responsible for receiving and digesting water and grain. It should be unobstructed and not stagnant. If the Qi is stagnant and fails to descend, stomachaches will occur frequently. The application of scraping therapy can dredge the meridians, circulate qi and blood, and relieve stomach pain. Gua Sha tools can be porcelain spoons, porcelain bowls, porcelain wine glasses, ox horn plates, etc. with thick, blunt, smooth edges, no damage, and will not scratch the skin.

The scraping tools can be dipped in sesame oil, peanut oil, rapeseed oil, salad oil and water as lubricants for scraping. Acupoints for Gua Sha The acupoints for Gua Sha are on the Ren meridian (all abdominal acupoints are on the midline of the abdomen) - Shangwan (five inches above the navel), Zhongwan (four inches above the navel), Xiawan (two inches above the navel); on the stomach meridian - Burong (six inches above the navel, two inches away from the Ren meridian), Liangmen (two inches away from Zhongwan), Zusanli (three inches below the outer knee pit); on the bladder meridian (all back acupoints are one inch and five fen away from the spine, below the spinous process of the spine) - Feishu (the eleventh thoracic vertebra), Weishu (the twelfth thoracic vertebra); on the pericardium meridian - Neiguan (on the palm side of the sheep arm, two inches directly above Daling acupoint, between the two tendons). Gua Sha Method: First, let the patient lie prone on a chair or table, and use a hot towel to wipe the area to be scraped. It is best to use 75% alcohol for routine disinfection. The practitioner holds the scraping tool, dips it in lubricant, and scrapes along the selected meridian points in one direction with even force and slowly.

Generally, scrape each area about 20 times until a slightly purple-red or purple-black color appears under the skin. Introduction to acupoints and stimulation methods for treating gastric spasm: Liangqiu point is near the kneecap. When you straighten your foot, a thin, long muscle depression will appear on the outside of your kneecap (towards your little toe). Press hard on the upper part of the depression on the thigh and you should feel a vibration. This is the Liangqiu point. Stimulate this point with acupressure. When applying pressure towards the thigh, the vibration will be stronger. You can press hard with your thumb. The slightest stimulation could not stop the sudden pain in my heart. The key to this situation is: apply pressure so hard that it hurts. Press for 20 seconds each time, rest for 5 seconds and then continue. Repeat this several times and the pain will gradually subside. The effect is truly incredible. However, as mentioned earlier, stimulating the Liangqiu point is only an emergency treatment, and all problems will not be solved just because the pain is relieved. Severe pain in the pit of the stomach is caused by some reason, so it is very necessary to go to the hospital to find out the real cause.
