How to treat high thyroid stimulating hormone?

Thyroid hormone is the most important hormone for people and an important substance for balancing the body's internal indicators. The level of thyroid hormone is constantly changing, sometimes high and sometimes low, but any deviation from the normal range is harmful to the body. For example, high thyroid-stimulating hormone is an abnormal phenomenon and is harmful to the body. So, how to treat high thyroid-stimulating hormone?

1. High calories:

It depends on the clinical treatment needs and the patient's eating habits, and generally increases by 50% to 70% compared to normal. Each person can be supplied with 3000 to 3500 Kcal of calories per day. Eat small meals frequently and don't overeat. Avoid spicy food, tobacco and alcohol. Drink plenty of water, about 2500 ml of water every day, and avoid stimulant drinks such as coffee and strong tea.

2. High protein:

Generally, each person consumes 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day.

3. High in vitamins:

Mainly supplement B vitamins and vitamin C.

4. Appropriate amount of minerals:

Mainly potassium, magnesium, calcium, etc. Avoid eating foods high in iodine, such as kelp, marine fish, and jellyfish skin. Since iodine is very volatile in the air or when heated, you only need to expose the iodized salt to the air or heat it slightly before use.

5. Avoid iodine:

Iodine is an important element for the synthesis of thyroid hormone. Within a certain limit, the amount of thyroid hormone synthesized increases with the increase of iodine dosage. If the dosage exceeds the limit, the synthesis and release of thyroid hormone will be temporarily inhibited, causing rapid relief of symptoms, but this inhibition is temporary.

If high-iodine foods or medications are taken for a long time, the thyroid gland will "adapt" to the "inhibitory" effect of iodine, the synthesis of thyroid hormone will be accelerated again, the accumulation of thyroid hormone in the thyroid gland will increase day by day, and a large amount of accumulated thyroid hormone will be released into the blood, causing recurrence or aggravation of hyperthyroidism.
