Can rabies be cured in the early stages?

Can rabies be cured in the early stages?

Rabies is a very ferocious viral disease among all infectious diseases. Once it occurs, the consequences are disastrous, and it is difficult to find an appropriate treatment method. Treatment failure may occur during the treatment process. Therefore, everyone must have a real understanding and knowledge of rabies. First of all, we must prevent saliva contamination. Rabies needs to be isolated in the early stages and cooperate with dietary therapy.

Medication

Rabies is the most dangerous viral disease of all infectious diseases. Once it occurs, the prognosis is extremely poor. There is no specific treatment so far. Many new drugs such as interferon α, adenosine, transfer factor and high-dose human anti-rabies globulin have been used clinically, but all have failed. Therefore, it is emphasized that timely preventive treatment should be given after a bite, and comprehensive symptomatic treatment should be the main treatment for patients after the onset of the disease.

1. Strictly isolate patients to prevent contamination from saliva, etc.

2. Monitoring and treatment should be completed by medical staff who have been vaccinated. The ward should be dark and away from light, and there should be no noise or running water around. Nurses should not wear hard-soled shoes, should not shake the bed, and should be gentle when taking things. Do not give the patient any irritating food. Sedatives, such as phenobarbital (sodium phenobarbital) or diazepam, can be used to keep manic and convulsive patients quiet. Pay attention to maintaining nutrition, water and electrolyte balance. It is advisable to give intravenous drip of glucose saline, dextran 40, plasma, supplement potassium and correct acid-base imbalance.

3. Take all measures to maintain the patient's cardiovascular and respiratory system functions. Tachycardia, arrhythmia, high blood pressure, etc. can be treated with beta-blockers. Respiratory failure is the main cause of death in rabies patients. Therefore, if necessary, tracheotomy, artificial respirator and other measures can be used to maintain breathing and correct respiratory failure.

It must be pointed out that once rabies occurs, although the mortality rate is extremely high, there is still hope of survival through monitoring and treatment, so active rescue should be carried out.

Diet and health care

1. What foods are good for the body when suffering from rabies?

1. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.

2. Provide protein foods that are easily digestible and absorbable, such as milk, eggs, fish, soy products, etc.

2. What foods should people with rabies avoid eating?

(1) Avoid spicy and hot foods: Spicy foods such as chili, pepper, mustard; spicy foods such as mutton, dog meat and other stimulating foods can aggravate the condition.

(2) Avoid salty, cold, and sweet foods: Salty and cold foods such as pickles and salted turtles can cause coughing, which is not conducive to the patient's rest and aggravates the symptoms. Sweet foods such as snacks, cakes, and barley can also cause the spleen and stomach to function poorly and aggravate coughing, which is not conducive to the patient's rest and aggravates the symptoms. They should be avoided.

(3) Avoid alcohol and coffee: Both can stimulate nerve excitement, induce manic attacks in patients, and aggravate the condition.

(4) Avoid eating foods that may cause irritation. Such as fish, shrimp, crab, chicken head, pork head, goose meat, chicken wings, chicken feet, etc.
