1. Cataract phacoemulsification:

After the operation, the posterior capsule of the lens is retained and a chamber-type artificial lens can be implanted at the same time. When senile cataract develops to a visual acuity of less than 0.3, the lens opacity is in the immature stage, and the central core is relatively soft, it is suitable for phacoemulsification surgery. Its advantages are small incision, less tissue damage, short operation time and rapid vision recovery.

2. Extracapsular cataract extraction:

Unlike the old-fashioned extracapsular extraction, it needs to be performed under a surgical microscope. The incision is smaller than that of intracapsular extraction. The cloudy lens nucleus is discharged and the cortex is sucked out, but the posterior lens capsule is left behind. The posterior capsule is preserved and a posterior chamber intraocular lens can be implanted at the same time, allowing immediate recovery of visual function after surgery. Therefore, extracapsular cataract extraction has become the current routine surgical method for cataracts.

3. Intracapsular cataract extraction:

It is a surgery to remove the cloudy lens intact from the eye. This surgery requires a larger surgical incision, and because the lens capsule is removed during the surgery, a posterior chamber intraocular lens cannot be implanted at the same time.

Eyes are the most fragile of our five senses, and problems may occur at any time. But no matter what the situation is, try not to rub or touch your eyes with your hands, and do not use blind methods to deal with it.
