Does subcutaneous lipoma hurt?

Subcutaneous lipoma is a common tumor in daily life. Most patients will not feel pain, but some patients will feel pain. So is it normal for subcutaneous lipoma to cause pain? Many patients are not fully aware of this. In fact, benign lipomas do not cause obvious pain, and even if there is occasional pain, it is only temporary.

1. Will subcutaneous lipoma hurt?

Most lipomas are benign and generally do not cause obvious pain. Even if there is occasional pain, it is only temporary. If the lipoma often causes pain or gradually grows larger, surgical removal is recommended. Otherwise, just observe. But subcutaneous lipomas are painful. Lipoma is a benign tumor that originates from adipose tissue. There is a thin connective tissue capsule around the tumor, which contains normal fat cells divided into leaf-like groups by connective tissue bundles. Some lipomas contain a lot of connective tissue or blood vessels in addition to a large amount of adipose tissue, forming a complex lipoma. It can occur in adipose tissue anywhere in the body, but rarely becomes malignant.

2. What are the symptoms of subcutaneous lipoma?

Lipoma occurs under the skin and is called subcutaneous lipoma. This type of tumor is a benign tumor that originates from subcutaneous adipose tissue and is mostly composed of mature adipose tissue. Lipoma will occur in any part of the body where there is fat. There is a thin layer of inner membrane around the tumor. The most common sites of occurrence are the neck, shoulders, back, buttocks and breasts. It is a benign tumor that originates from adipose tissue and is composed of mature adipose tissue.

Subcutaneous lipoma is a very common skin lesion formed by the accumulation of normal fat cells. It accounts for about 80% of benign soft tissue tumors. It has no obvious special cause and often occurs under the skin, but can also occur in deep tissues such as internal organs. Mature adipocytes are arranged in groups, and most are surrounded by a fibrous outer membrane. However, sometimes there are scattered patches of irregularly marginated fat tissue infiltrating the muscle tissue. Lipomas are commonly found in the subcutaneous fat layer of the head, neck, shoulders and back. It can be multiple and can occur at any age, but is most often found between the ages of 40 and 60. The lesions are usually slow-growing, round, soft, movable, and painless to the touch.

Subcutaneous lipoma will be painful, but patients don’t need to worry. As long as they pay attention to treatment and take medication regularly, I believe they will recover soon. Patients should also learn more about their own symptoms and be able to handle some emergency situations themselves.
