What are the main neck diseases?

In daily life, many people suffer from neck pain, which seriously affects people's normal work and life. But what are the neck diseases? Most people don't quite understand this. In fact, there are 6 types of neck diseases, and the most common neck disease is soft tissue injury of the neck.

1. Soft tissue injury of the neck has an obvious history of trauma. After the injury, the neck will be painful, with a sense of weight bearing and tenderness at the injured area. The pain may spread from the back of the neck to the occipital region, or radiate to the shoulder and scapula on one or both sides. When the injury is more serious, the neck pain is also more severe, or the neck becomes stiff, various activities are limited, and even sympathetic nervous system symptoms such as heavy head, headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, etc. may appear. Symptoms of nerve root compression such as numbness, weakness, and heaviness in one or both upper limbs may also occur.

2. Stiff neck causes pain in the neck, shoulders and back when getting up in the morning, as well as soreness, tiredness and discomfort, which is mostly on one side but not on both sides. In severe cases, the head often tilts to the affected side, the neck cannot rotate or look back freely, and the pain worsens when the neck moves.

3. Cervical spondylosis is caused by degenerative changes in the cervical spine, which stimulates or compresses the surrounding blood vessels. Nerves, etc., cause shoulder and arm or dizziness, paralysis and other symptoms, but shoulder and arm pain accounts for the majority, so it is called cervical and shoulder syndrome.

4. When patients have calcification of the nuchal ligament , they usually complain of common symptoms of cervical spondylosis without any special symptoms, and some patients even have no obvious symptoms.

5. Trapezius syndrome refers to pain originating from the trapezius muscle. The tenderness may be localized and radiate to the shoulder.

6. Cervical and shoulder myofascial pain Myofascial pain can occur at any age, but it is more common in middle-aged people, most of whom are involved in the labor force and more often in women. The lower back or neck and shoulders are common areas of the disease. Most patients can point out the location of pain, and the pain can radiate to distant areas, such as the shoulders, arms, upper back, and head. It may also be accompanied by sympathetic nervous system symptoms such as headache, dizziness, tinnitus, and even cold arms and changes in blood pressure.
