How to determine if the eardrum is perforated? Tell you at 3 o'clock

Eardrum perforation is relatively common in clinical practice, which is caused by damage to the eardrum due to various reasons. Many people do not know how to judge whether the eardrum is perforated. Generally, the diagnosis of eardrum perforation is mainly based on some symptoms, or you can go to the hospital for examination and judgment.

1. When people have eardrum perforation again, the patient's ear will definitely feel something different. If the eardrum perforation is caused by acute otitis media, the patient will first have ear pain, which will be relieved after the eardrum perforation, and fluid may flow out of the ear. If the eardrum is perforated due to excessive external noise, then after the eardrum ruptures, the patient will suddenly feel ear pain, immediate hearing loss accompanied by tinnitus, a small amount of bleeding in the external auditory canal and a feeling of stuffiness in the ear. This is an accurate indicator for determining whether a patient has a perforated tympanic membrane.

2. In order to determine whether people have eardrum perforation, a series of examinations must be done. The most common of these is an ear endoscopy, which mainly uses an endoscope to check whether something has occurred in the patient's ear. The endoscope is inserted from outside the body through the ear canal to examine ear canal and tympanic membrane diseases. The ear canal, tympanic membrane depression, perforation, etc. can be directly observed to determine their location and range. Photography, biopsy or swabbing can also be performed to directly see whether the patient has tympanic membrane perforation.

3. If you want to determine whether the eardrum is perforated, you also need to check the function of the patient's Eustachian tube. This is mainly done by asking the patient to inhale, pinch the nostrils on both sides with his fingers, close his mouth, and exhale forcefully through the nose, so that the air in the pharynx can rush into the Eustachian tube. This type of examination can more clearly detect whether the patient has tympanic membrane perforation.
