This is an accurate indicator for determining whether a patient has a perforated tympanic membrane.

The most common of these is an ear endoscopy, which mainly uses an endoscope to check whether something has occurred in the patient's ear. The endoscope is inserted from outside the body through the ear canal to examine ear canal and tympanic membrane diseases. The ear canal, tympanic membrane depression, perforation, etc. can be directly observed to determine their location and range. Photography, biopsy or swabbing can also be performed to directly see whether the patient has tympanic membrane perforation.

3. If you want to determine whether the eardrum is perforated, you also need to check the function of the patient's Eustachian tube. This is mainly done by asking the patient to inhale, pinch the nostrils on both sides with his fingers, close his mouth, and exhale forcefully through the nose, so that the air in the pharynx can rush into the Eustachian tube. This type of examination can more clearly detect whether the patient has tympanic membrane perforation.
