How to deal with congenital myopia?

When congenital myopia occurs, we must first be fully aware of the dangers of congenital myopia, especially when the child is still young. The higher the degree of congenital hyperopia in children, the greater the chance of developing various eye diseases, such as retinal detachment and eventually leading to blindness. Therefore, congenital myopia must be taken seriously.

1. Differentiating between true and false myopia

In addition to going to the hospital for an eye test, an easy way is to hang an international standard vision chart 5 meters away. Data shows that how to treat congenital myopia, most of myopia occurs during the physical growth and development period of children and adolescents. If nutrition cannot keep up or the child has poor appetite, picky eating, and anorexia, it will lead to malnutrition in the child, thus promoting the occurrence of myopia. Myopia should be treated as early as possible.

Pseudomyopia is caused by the fact that the eyes still maintain a certain degree of accommodation when looking at distant objects. In other words, this is a refractive state in which the eye adjusts slowly when it switches from near vision to far vision. It increases with the extension of near vision time and the increase of accommodation degree, and decreases or disappears with the degree of far vision and accommodation relaxation. Therefore, pseudomyopia has the characteristics that it will disappear if treated (including rest), but may recur if not treated. Various myopia treatments may have certain effects, but all effects are not long-lasting.

2. Choice of glasses for congenital myopia

Generally, myopia below 6.00D

It needs to be fully corrected and worn regularly; people with high myopia need complete correction to obtain better vision, but often cannot tolerate it. Therefore, how to treat congenital myopia is to reduce the lens power (concave lens is generally between 1.00D and 3.00D). Myopia treatment strives to maintain comfort and binocular vision function.

Contact lenses

Wearing contact lenses can increase the field of vision, have a better cosmetic effect, and significantly reduce the refractive difference between the two eyes, thereby maintaining binocular vision function. For young myopic people, contact lenses can not only improve their vision, but also compress the cornea to prevent myopia from developing further. When treating myopia, you must pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene, disinfect and maintain them as required, and replace them frequently.

Telescope glasses

People with extremely high myopia or macular degeneration can often read or do near work with the help of telescope glasses. The magnification of these glasses is 1.8 times, so they can enhance distance vision by 2% to 3.5%, and near vision by up to 5 times. Myopia treatment cannot be used while walking because the field of vision is too small.
