What are the treatments for pigmented purpuric dermatitis

Pigmented purpuric dermatitis is a chronic skin disease that is more common among middle-aged and elderly people. Pigmented purpuric dermatitis can also be treated with traditional Chinese medicine. Among them, attention should also be paid to diet in the treatment of pigmented purpuric dermatitis.

1. During treatment, patients can use traditional Chinese medicine methods for treatment, mainly choosing medicines that have the functions of cooling blood, clearing heat, promoting blood circulation and removing spots, including dried rehmannia, lithospermum root, isatis root, moutan bark, red and white peony root, millettia reticulata, chuanxiong, angelica, loofah, papaya, Achyranthes bidentata, etc. If swelling of the lower limbs occurs, patients can add phellodendron chinense and orientalis.

2. You can also choose single-ingredient medicines such as Rhubarb, Stinging Worm Pills, Dehumidifying Pills, Blood Activating and Anti-inflammatory Pills, or Danshen Tablets for treatment. It can also be treated locally. The local treatment method mainly involves applying local ointments. Mix Poria powder, Hanshui stone powder, and borneol powder together, and then apply it with fresh aloe vera, 1 to 2 times a day.

3. In daily life, patients should avoid standing for long periods of time and should pay more attention to rest. If varicose veins occur, appropriate treatment methods should be given. Patients with mild symptoms can choose elastic bandages, while severe patients require surgical treatment. In daily diet, more fresh vegetables and fruits should be chosen.

4. Pigmented purpuric dermatosis is a group of similar diseases caused by lymphocyte-mediated erythrocyte extravasation, including progressive pigmented purpuric dermatosis, telangiectatic annular purpura and pigmented purpuric lichenoid dermatitis. The treatment effect is often unsatisfactory. Vitamin C, antihistamines, rutin, etc. are taken orally and topical glucocorticoid packs have certain efficacy. Systemic application of glucocorticoids has better efficacy, but it is easy to relapse after discontinuation of the drug. Chinese medicine for promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis can also be used.
