The symptoms of vitreous opacity in the eyes are these

Vitreous opacities are a disease that many elderly people suffer from after the age of 60. Its occurrence has a huge impact on the normal life of the elderly, so early detection and early treatment are necessary. So what are the symptoms of vitreous opacities in the eyes? Most people don't quite understand this. In fact, the phenomenon of smoke-like or black cloud-like shadows appearing in front of your eyes is a symptom of vitreous opacity.

1. Symptoms of vitreous opacities in the eyes: 1. Smoke-like or black cloud-like shadows may appear in front of the eyes. Some patients will quickly become blind and only have a sense of light. More obvious opacities are more common in degenerative myopia. Patients feel that there are large and dark shadows in front of their eyes, and their vision will decrease to varying degrees. When examining the fundus, it can be found that it is like dust floating, and in severe cases, the fundus cannot be seen, and there is even no red light reflection in the fundus. It was pitch black.

2. Patients with mild vitreous opacities feel that black shadows are floating in front of their eyes, like mosquitoes and flies flying. The onset is sudden and the disease progresses rapidly. The degree of vision impact varies depending on the location and degree of vitreous opacity. Mild opacity does not affect vision and cannot be detected with an ophthalmoscope.

3. Under the slit lamp, brown-yellow old bleeding will appear in the vitreous body. Under the ophthalmoscope, the patient sees dust-like and lumpy turbidities floating, or only a faint red light, or no red light. In patients with recurrent bleeding, proliferative cords or membranes may form in the vitreous body, along with the appearance of new blood vessels. 2. Symptoms of vitreous opacities in the eyes also include: Hemorrhagic opacities: common in trauma, surgery, various retinal vascular diseases and blood clots. Degenerative opacities: common in high myopia, retinal detachment, vitreous calcium and cholesterol deposition, etc. Congenital turbidity: mostly caused by remnants of mesodermal tissue in the embryonic period. In addition, inflammatory opacity is also a symptom of vitreous opacity. Inflammatory opacities are generally caused by leukocyte migration and protein aggregation, and are a common manifestation of various retinal and uveitis. Here, it is recommended that vitreous opacities should be detected and treated early. Vitreous opacities not only reduce vision, but also pose a risk of blindness.
