What is the reason for weakness and numbness in the limbs

In traditional Chinese medicine, weakness and numbness in the limbs are caused by insufficient Qi and blood. Especially for people with weak bodies, they are prone to symptoms such as weakness in the limbs, dizziness, spontaneous sweating, etc. Therefore, it is recommended that people with both Qi and blood deficiency should pay attention to replenishing Qi and blood and regulating the body.

1. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Qi and blood are the most basic substances to maintain human life activities. Qi is Yang, which is a subtle substance that is constantly moving and has strong vitality; blood is Yin, which is the carrier of Qi and provides Qi with sufficient nutrition. As the saying goes, "Qi is the commander of blood, and blood is the mother of Qi." The circulation of blood depends on the promotion of Qi, and the existence of Qi depends on the nourishment of blood.

2. Qi deficiency. It is often caused by insufficient biochemistry and excessive dissipation in the body. It is more common in people with congenital deficiency, malnutrition, old age and weakness, and excessive fatigue. The main symptoms include mental fatigue, weakness in the limbs, dizziness, spontaneous sweating, colds, etc.

3. Blood deficiency. This is a pathological phenomenon of yin blood deficiency in the body, which can be caused by excessive blood loss, long-term illness, etc. People with blood deficiency have pale complexion, dull lips, tongue and nails, and often experience symptoms such as dizziness, palpitations, weight loss, and dry eyes.

4. Deficiency of both Qi and blood. Generally, people with qi deficiency will also have symptoms of blood deficiency, which are mostly manifested as fatigue, palpitations, frequent dreams, and pale or sallow complexion. In addition, the nourishing effect of Qi and blood on the meridians, muscles, and skin is weakened, and common symptoms include numbness of limbs, dry skin, and itching.

5. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that if yin and yang are harmonious, qi and blood are vigorous, and meridians are smooth, all diseases will not occur. Therefore, nourishing sufficient qi and blood is crucial to human health, and it can generally be regulated through five steps.
