1. Maintain a normal weight. Being overweight and obese will simply add burden to your spine.

2. When sitting for a long time, it is best to sit in an ergonomic chair, or at least a chair with lumbar support; the same is true when driving, a proper lumbar support will make you less tired;

3. When standing for a long time, it is best to choose sports shoes with cushioning insoles, which can help relieve the pressure of hard ground better than completely flat canvas shoes or boat shoes.

4. Don’t always wear high heels, because in order to maintain balance when wearing high heels, people must always keep their hips lifted. Over time, this will cause muscle strain in the back and waist muscles, and even lumbar disc herniation.

5. Most low back pain is caused by muscle strain, but if the pain extends from the buttocks to the legs, it may be a herniated disc compressing the sciatic nerve, and you need to go to the hospital for examination.

6. Excessive exercise, stretching or sudden lifting of heavy objects may cause lumbar muscle strain, so if you are weak for a long time, don't try to be brave at critical moments. If you really want to be strong, remember to use your legs to exert your strength, not your waist and back.

7. Don’t lie down at home for a long time. Your muscles will become sore and weak, which will aggravate the pain. In fact, the best way to protect the lumbar spine is to exercise and strengthen the back muscles. Strong muscles can provide the strongest support for the lumbar spine.
