What is alcoholic liver disease?

Alcoholic liver disease is actually quite serious. Usually, if it occurs, it can easily lead to memory loss, auditory and visual hallucinations, or even harm reproductive health in severe cases, and may also induce cirrhosis.

1. Alcoholic liver disease is seriously harmful. When chronic alcohol poisoning occurs, patients will slowly find that their memory is not as good as before and their judgment is impaired. When they quit drinking, some patients experience mental abnormalities such as hallucinations, auditory hallucinations, and mania. Their libido is reduced, and severe cases may even cause infertility. Some people suffer from diabetes. Their appetite decreases, and acute and chronic erosive gastritis, chronic pancreatitis, and chronic cholecystitis also often occur. Some patients may also have concurrent arteriosclerosis, myocarditis, and coronary heart disease; more damage is to the liver, with about 75% developing fatty liver, 40% developing alcoholic hepatitis, and 8%-29% developing cirrhosis.

2. After alcohol enters the human body, only 10% is excreted from the stomach and intestines, and 90% is metabolized in the liver. The main component of alcohol is ethanol, which is oxidized into acetaldehyde after entering the liver cells. Both ethanol and acetaldehyde have the toxic effect of directly stimulating and damaging liver cells, and can cause fatty degeneration and even necrosis of liver cells.

3. If alcohol intake exceeds 40 grams per day for more than 5 consecutive years, 48% will suffer from alcoholic liver disease to varying degrees; when 80-100 grams of alcohol is consumed per day, the risk of alcoholic liver disease increases 5 times; if more than 160 grams of alcohol is consumed per day, it increases 25 times; if alcohol is consumed continuously for 8 years, with an average daily alcohol consumption of 227 grams, 33% of alcoholics will develop alcoholic hepatitis and 14% will develop alcoholic cirrhosis. Drinking a large amount at one time is more dangerous than drinking small amounts in several times, and drinking at an early age has a high risk of developing liver disease.

4. Patients with alcoholic liver disease must quit drinking, otherwise after 3 to 5 years of continued alcoholism, alcoholic hepatitis will develop into cirrhosis. To treat alcoholic liver disease, repairing the damaged liver cell membrane is the key. The unique membrane-repairing ingredients of polyene phosphatidylcholine (EasyFu), which is recommended by my country's three major liver disease diagnosis and treatment guidelines, can accelerate the regeneration and stabilization of damaged liver cell membranes, effectively improve alcohol-induced liver damage, and promote liver recovery.
