The symptoms of rotavirus enteritis are like this

Rotavirus enteritis is a common type of enteritis in daily life. It is mainly caused by rotavirus infection and is very troublesome to treat. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the symptoms of rotavirus enteritis and treat it in time. In fact, the main symptoms of rotavirus are diarrhea, yellow water, and no mucus.

Clinical manifestations

The main clinical manifestations are diarrhea, yellow water, and no mucus

The incubation period is usually 2 to 3 days. Acute onset, the main clinical manifestations are diarrhea, yellow water, no mucus, pus, blood, the amount is generally 5 to 10 times / day, more than 20 times the body weight of a person / day. Most of them are accompanied by fever, with body temperature ranging from 39.5 to 37.9. 30% to 50% of children have early respiratory symptoms.

Infected adults have fewer fever and respiratory symptoms than children. Other associated symptoms include abdominal distension, abdominal rumbling, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, etc. Rotavirus infection in adults may cause symptoms such as general fatigue, aches, dizziness, and headache. Severe diarrhea may cause isotonic dehydration, metabolic acidosis and electrolyte imbalance.

Symptoms are more severe in patients who are frail, elderly, or receiving immunosuppressants. The course of diarrhea caused by rotavirus infection is short, generally 3 to 5 days, and most of them are self-limiting. Chronic symptomatic diarrhea may occur in immunocompromised patients.

examine

1. Blood routine test

The total white blood cell count is normal, but the cell count is slightly increased. Stool examination: Yellow watery in appearance, without mucus, pus or blood, no abnormal examination.

2. Detection of viruses and viral antigens in feces

(1) Electron microscopy for detecting viruses in feces Electron microscopy can make specific diagnoses by observing typical morphology, with a positive rate of up to 90%.

(2) Detection of virus-specific antigens Many immunological methods can be used to detect rotavirus-specific antigens. Such as enzyme immunoassay (EIA), complement fixation test (CF), immunofluorescence (IF) method, etc.
