Dry socket care, oral hygiene should be done well

Dry socket is very common in the dental department. The severe pain that occurs about 3 days after tooth extraction is caused by infection of the extraction wound. If dry socket occurs, you should pay attention to rest, maintain oral hygiene, and seek timely treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine is a good treatment.

1. Dry socket care

The nursing method is to appropriately reduce work intensity, pay attention to rest and get enough sleep. Strengthen oral care and maintain oral hygiene. Do not do any vigorous actions such as puffing your cheeks, rinsing your mouth, or sucking and spitting out blood within 24 hours after tooth extraction, and try your best to protect the blood clot in the extraction wound from being destroyed.

Treatment of dry socket

1. Drug Law

① You can use Chinese medicine that can strengthen the spleen and stomach, replenish qi and produce blood, such as yam, lentil, white atractylodes, six-qu, malt, pinellia, coix seed, white cardamom, astragalus, codonopsis, angelica, donkey-hide gelatin, placenta, and Polygonum multiflorum. Then select Chinese medicine according to the symptoms. For example, for the wind-fire and excess heat type, use Patrinia scabra, Pulsatilla scabra, Sophora flavescens, Smilax glabra, Portulaca oleracea, Hedyotis diffusa, Honeysuckle, Isatis root, Atractylodes macrocephala, Angelica dahurica, and Bombyx batryticatus.

② Chinese patent medicines include Guiqi Pills, Jianpi Pills, and Honeysuckle Dew.

2. External treatment

① Boil 12 grams of chrysanthemum and remove the residue. Rinse your mouth after it cools down.

② 30 cm of reed root (washed), boiled into a decoction, remove the residue, rinse your mouth after it cools. Do the above 3-4 times a day. Used for wind-fire and excess heat type.

③Apply Yangyin Shengji Powder or Zhufen to the wound 4 times a day. It has anti-inflammatory and healing effects.

3. For acupuncture, choose Cheek Cartilage, Dicang and Hegu. Leave the needles in place for 15 minutes. It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.
