How to detect neurasthenia

Neurasthenia can have a great impact on your life and work, because it can cause problems such as irritability, fatigue, or headaches, as well as difficulty falling asleep and frequent insomnia. If you experience these symptoms, you should be alert to whether they are caused by neurasthenia.

(1) Easily excitable: Studying, talking, and entertainment activities all cause mental excitement that cannot be controlled. There are a lot of memories and associations during the learning process, so it is difficult to concentrate. They are particularly sensitive to bright light, noise and crowds around them, and are often frightened to the point of having their heart rate race and sweating because of the slightest stimulation. They often take their anger out on others for no apparent reason, but soon feel guilty and self-blame after the quarrel.

(2) They get easily tired when reading and feel headache, dizziness and numbness in the brain after reading for a long time. I can't grasp the main idea when reading, my memory declines, and my learning efficiency also drops significantly. The sick teenagers sometimes try very hard, and sometimes even pour cold water on their heads, drink coffee and strong tea to try to concentrate, but they are obviously unable to do so.

(3) Headaches that are prone to occur are tension headaches, which are often aggravated during study and significantly relieved after rest. The pain is mostly not in a fixed location. Sometimes the neck feels stiff, sometimes it feels like being hit by a heavy object, and sometimes it feels groggy, and sometimes it feels like wearing a "tight hoop". However, it is usually bearable and is significantly relieved after waking up from sleep.

(4) Insomnia is mainly characterized by difficulty falling asleep, waking up easily, and difficulty falling asleep again after waking up. I often have dreams and most of them are nightmares, so I can’t sleep well and even if I do sleep I don’t feel refreshed.

(5) Symptoms of autonomic dysfunction are mostly anorexia, irregular menstruation, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, high or low blood pressure, etc. Specific to individuals, the symptoms vary, some are mild and some are severe, and usually the above 2 and 3 are the main symptoms.
