Can I still drink alcohol if I have gallstones

Of course, patients with gallstones cannot drink alcohol, because alcohol will make the condition worse, and bad eating habits and long-term drinking in life can easily induce gallstones, so it is necessary to focus on changing these eating habits and receive scientific treatment.

The causes of gallstones are complex and diverse, among which unreasonable and unhealthy eating and living habits have a certain impact on the formation of gallstones. Then the onset of gallstones is related to drinking. Drinking too much or too frequently can cause great harm to human health. Regular consumption of stimulating foods such as alcohol can stimulate excessive secretion of gastric acid, leading to gallbladder contraction, which can easily lead to biliary colic. At the same time, long-term drinking will cause increased blood lipids and lead to obesity. The body's ability to regulate cholesterol will also be reduced, which can easily cause gallstones.

1. Drug treatment: Oral litholytic drugs can promote the excretion of stones, protect kidney function, repair damage, change the body environment and urine properties. However, for stones larger than 0.5 cm, the effect is often slow and the effect of medication is not ideal. Sometimes there will be repeated attacks of pain, and patients are often accompanied by gallbladder inflammation, which is prone to recurrence.

2. Lithotripsy: No hospitalization is required and the damage is small. However, due to the special position and structure of the gallbladder, the stones are not easy to locate. Even if the stones are broken, they are difficult to expel, and the frequency of abdominal pain will increase. What's worse, it may cause common bile duct stones.

3. Surgical treatment: Direct removal of the gallbladder through surgery can quickly eradicate the lesion and is currently the best method. However, the surgery has certain indications and is not suitable for all patients (such as the elderly, children, etc.). Moreover, traditional open surgery causes great damage to the human body and requires a long period of hospitalization to recover, affecting work and life. With the development of science and technology, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, as a new surgical method, can overcome the shortcomings of traditional open surgery, with less damage and faster recovery, and is increasingly favored by patients.
