Cats belong to the family of caries and are hosts of the rabies virus, so in addition to general treatment for cat bites, rabies vaccination must be performed. Specific treatment method: first rinse the wound with clean water, salt water or 1:2000 potassium permanganate solution, and then use iodine or 5% carbolic acid to locally cauterize the wound (the treatment of wounds in other parts of the body is the same as the limbs), then stop the bleeding and bandage. Those with serious injuries should be sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. In rabies-endemic areas, cat bites should be treated the same way as dog bites to prevent rabies.

1. Don't be afraid and don't run around. First of all, parents should not panic, so as to avoid excessive fear in the child and make him as quiet and relaxed as possible; let the child lie flat and do not let the child move to prevent the spread of toxins.

2. Clean the wound carefully and thoroughly. Rinse the local wound with clean water (mineral water or tap water) and mechanically squeeze the wound at the same time to squeeze out the contaminated blood and toxins. Note: Do not suck the wound directly with your mouth and do not bandage the wound directly.

3. Send to hospital immediately. Keep the wound exposed and rinse with running water for more than 20 minutes. Then, tie the upper end (proximal end) of the wound with a cloth tape and send the patient to a nearby hospital as soon as possible.

4. Get rabies vaccine. When the child arrives at the hospital, the doctor will inject him with rabies immunoglobulin to give him passive immunity and directly kill the rabies virus that he may have been infected with. Then, take your child to receive three rabies vaccines regularly as required for active immunization, so that the body can produce anti-rabies virus antibodies within about 1 week.
