In traditional Chinese medicine, stomach heat means evil heat in the stomach. Eating spicy food, drinking alcohol, and eating greasy food can all cause stomach heat. Patients will experience symptoms such as thirst, bitter and dry mouth, bad breath, and swollen and painful gums. Some traditional Chinese medicine remedies for treating stomach heat are very effective. 1. Hiccups due to febrile diseases (there is latent heat in the stomach, which causes chest fullness and causes qi reflux, which manifests as hiccups). Use half a pound each of Imperata root, Phragmites australis and Pueraria root, add three liters of water and boil it down to one and a half liters. Take one cup each time with warm water. Stop taking the medicine once hiccups stop. 2. For vomiting due to stomach heat, use 50 cicada shells (remove the mud) and one ounce of talcum powder, grind them into powder, take two qian each time, with a bowl of water and honey. This recipe is called "Qing Ge San". 3. Treat stomach heat and thirst. Cook rice with old corn. 4. Pain due to fire in the stomach. Fry seven (or nine) large gardenias until they are charred, add a bowl of water, boil until 70% cooked, add ginger juice and drink it, the pain will stop immediately. If the disease relapses, you should take one more qian of Xuanming powder to relieve the pain. 5. Toothache due to stomach heat. Boil the Cimicifuga heracleifolia in water, rinse your mouth with the hot water and swallow it. You can also add raw Rehmannia root to the prescription. 6. Hidden heat in the stomach and intestines. Use five liang of Physalis fruit, three liang of Amaranth fruit, two liang each of Iris seed (fried) and Salinulum salsa bark (fried), one liang each of Bupleurum, Scutellaria baicalensis, Trichosanthes root, and Rhizoma Lucidum. Grind them into powder, add refined honey and make into pills as big as walnuts. Take 30 pills each time, with costus root soup. 7. (Zhizi root) Very cold, used to treat diabetes, chronic heat in the stomach and intestines. Apply externally to treat snake bites and sores. 8. Erosion of the mouth and tongue (the bladder transfers heat to the small intestine, causing ulcers in the mouth and tongue, heat in the heart and stomach, and inability to swallow food and water). Use three grams each of Bupleurum and Rehmannia root, decoct in water and drink. The name of this recipe is "Di Gu Pi Tang". |
