What causes gout? Six factors that cause gout

I believe everyone is familiar with gout. It has brought trouble to the lives of many people. The main causes of this phenomenon are obesity, age, genetic inheritance, hyperlipidemia, drinking and long-term use of uric acid control drugs.

1. Obesity: The higher the quality of diet, the greater the possibility of gout. Data shows that the average weight of gout patients is 17.8 percent higher than the standard weight. At the same time, the larger the body surface area, the higher the serum uric acid level. So obesity is unhealthy.

2. Age: The onset of gout also has obvious age characteristics. Gout mostly occurs in men over 40 years old and is a common inflammatory arthritis. Primary gout is most common in middle-aged people, with the peak age of 40 to 50 years old.

3. Genetic inheritance: Primary gout is a congenital metabolic defect disease and therefore can be inherited. The inheritance pattern of gout is generally autosomal dominant or autosomal recessive, and some are X-linked.

4. Hyperlipidemia: According to relevant statistics, patients with hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia account for 75% to 84% of the gout population. Therefore, in order to alleviate the condition, one should lose weight, reach physiological weight standards, control diet appropriately, and reduce hyperlipidemia.

5. Drinking: Long-term and heavy drinking will cause increased blood uric acid and blood lactic acid. This can lead to an acute attack of gouty arthritis; excessive intake of high-protein, fat and high-purine foods in the daily diet can also lead to an increase in purine in the body, and an increase in blood uric acid may induce the occurrence of gout.

6. Long-term use of uric acid control drugs: Patients usually take some drugs that promote uric acid when treating gout, but we must be wary of the damage they may cause to our kidneys. At the same time, some drugs will affect the normal excretion of uric acid in the body and cause gout attacks.
