Acupuncture treatment for hemiplegia has particularly good results

Acupuncture treatment for hemiplegia has particularly good results

In life, we see many patients with hemiplegia, many of which are caused by hypertension. You can choose Chinese medicine to treat hemiplegia, especially acupuncture, which is particularly effective. Acupuncture treatment for hemiplegia requires accurate acupoints and you should pay attention to a peaceful mentality.

(1) Commonly used acupuncture points

Acupoints on the head and face such as Baihui, Shangxing, Yintang, Yingxiang, Taiyang, Xiaguan, Dicang, Renzhong, Yifeng and Fengchi.

The Quchi, Shousanli, Waiguan, Neiguan, Hegu, Shaoze, Houxi and other acupoints on the upper limbs.

The lower limbs include Huantiao, Zhibian, Fengshi, Yanglingquan, Zusanli, Chengshan, Sanyinjiao, Kunlun, and Yongquan acupoints.

It is not advisable to select too many acupoints each time and they can be used in rotation. Generally, 12 main acupoints are selected and then several auxiliary acupoints are selected. One course of treatment is 7-10 days once a day, and then rest for 57 days before the second course of treatment. Electroacupuncture can also be used.

(2) Scalp acupuncture is a special acupuncture therapy for treating hemiplegia caused by cerebrovascular disease. Acupuncture therapy is mainly used based on the theory of neuroanatomy and cerebral cortical function to mark stimulation areas corresponding to cortical functions on the scalp, and acupuncture is performed on these stimulation areas to achieve the purpose of treating diseases. It is currently mainly used to treat paralysis, numbness, aphasia and other symptoms caused by cerebrovascular disease. Early treatment is best for patients with cerebral infarction, while early treatment is generally started for patients with cerebral hemorrhage after their condition stabilizes.

The acupoints are selected in the contralateral motor area. For sensory impairment, the contralateral sensory area is selected. For motor aphasia, the contralateral motor area is selected. For sensory aphasia, the contralateral language area 3 is selected. For naming aphasia, the contralateral language area 2 is selected.

Methods: According to the above principles, the location of the stimulation area is selected. The needle is quickly inserted into the scalp or muscle layer, and twisted obliquely to the required area length. Rapid and continuous twisting of the needle is required. More than 200 twists per minute are required. Generally, 23 minutes is required to reach the adaptation to the stimulation amount and intensity. The patient's corresponding limbs will feel heat, numbness, swelling, twitching, sweating, etc. Rest for 5 minutes, then twist for 23 minutes, and then rest for 5-10 minutes before the needle is removed. Take once a day, generally 10-15 days is a course of treatment, you can rest for about a week before taking the second course of treatment.

Precautions: The acupuncture site should be selected accurately and strictly disinfected with 75% alcohol cotton balls before acupuncture. After the needle is inserted, if there is severe pain in the local area, you can twist for 2 minutes. If the pain is still unbearable, you can withdraw the needle to the subcutaneous tissue and adjust the direction of needle insertion appropriately to avoid pain. When removing the needle, press the needle hole with a dry cotton ball for 12 minutes to prevent bleeding. If the patient faints from needles, the needle should be removed immediately and appropriate treatment should be given.
