How to treat cervical kyphosis, it is important to pay attention to daily life

The first thing patients with cervical kyphosis should pay attention to is to improve their daily living habits and develop a good and healthy lifestyle. There are several common treatments for this phenomenon, such as physical therapy, traction therapy, and drug therapy.

1. Usual habits.

You should develop good living and study habits, avoid reading books or watching TV in bed, and master the correct writing posture.

2. Pay attention to the use of pillow.

The pillow should not be too high. The best pillow height for adults is 18-25CM, and for children is 10-15CM. People who sleep on their side should shape the pillow into a concave shape before going to bed. The pillow should be divided into three equal parts, and the two sides can be 10CM higher to adapt to the normal physiological curve of the cervical spine when sleeping on the side. The best pillow core material should be reed catkins, slightly hard reed cores, or mung bean shells. It is not recommended to use overly soft sponge pillows or overly hard bamboo pillows commonly used in summer.

3. Do more activities.

People who work at a desk for a long time should have 5-10 minutes of rest every hour and do self-care exercises for the cervical spine. Strengthen the training of the neck and shoulder muscles, and do flexion, extension and rotation exercises of the head and upper limbs during breaks or after work. This is clinically known as the "M" exercise. It can not only relieve fatigue, but also develop muscles and enhance toughness, which is beneficial to the stability of the cervical spine and enhances the ability of the neck and shoulders to adapt to sudden changes in the neck.

4. Exercise regularly.

Appropriately participate in healthy sports activities within your ability, such as badminton, backward walking, etc., to improve blood supply to the cervical spine and prevent and delay the onset of cervical degeneration.

5. Consult frequently.

If you often suffer from stiff neck, pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms, or dizziness when turning your head, you should see an orthopedic physician in time for diagnosis. Avoid blindly performing massage that may leave you with future problems.

6. Rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation exercises for cervical spondylosis can improve blood circulation in the patient's neck and loosen adhesions and spasms of soft tissues. Many movements in the rehabilitation exercises for cervical spondylosis have unique therapeutic effects on cervical spondylosis; they can play a preventive role for people without cervical spondylosis.

Posture: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, arms hanging naturally, and your whole body relaxed. Look straight ahead and breathe evenly, either standing or sitting.

1. Rub your neck with both palms, cross your fingers and place them on the back of your neck, rub back and forth 100 times.

2. Look left and right, turn your head first to the left and then to the right. The amplitude should be large enough to feel soreness and swelling. Repeat 30 times.

7. The treatment of cervical spondylosis is mainly conservative. Commonly used methods include traction, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture and drug therapy. Among them, traction therapy is a relatively effective and easy method, which is effective for most patients with cervical spondylosis.
