What is glioma?

Gliomas are a type of brain tumor. Because they are malignant tumors, they pose a greater threat to patients. Genetic factors, external viral infections, and air pollution may all cause gliomas.

Overview of brain glioma:

Gliomas, also known as neurogliomas, are a type of brain tumor. Generally, gliomas are not easy to treat and are malignant brain tumors. Moreover, because they grow in very important parts of the brain, they are not easy to remove surgically. Let us look at the causes of gliomas. I hope everyone can try to prevent them in life.

1. Genetic factors. This is not to say that brain glioma is hereditary, but that certain defects in the body will increase the risk of a person developing glioma.

2. Infection. Many experiments have shown that viral infection can induce brain tumors. Especially if a woman is infected with the virus during pregnancy, the chance of the fetus becoming ill is very high.

3. Ionizing radiation: Long-term exposure to a radiation environment, such as X-rays, γ-rays, nuclear radiation, etc., will increase the chance of developing brain glioma.

4. Polluted air: It has been confirmed that not only do workers who work in an air-polluted environment for a long time have a significantly increased risk of developing brain tumors, but their children also have a higher tumor incidence rate than other children. These occupations are mainly related to papermaking, milling, handicrafts, printing, chemical industry, oil refining and metal smelting, mainly due to the presence of large amounts of hydrocarbon compounds in the air. Air polluted by pesticides also falls into this category.

5. Nitroso compounds: With the development of modern industrialization, this type of compound has become widely present in the environment we live in, especially produced in the process of food processing.
