The refrigerator is a tool for storing food that we often use in our lives. Generally, when we used it in the past, we would find a thick layer of frost on the refrigerator. With the progress of society and the development of science and technology, refrigerators are becoming more and more advanced. Now there are not only frosted refrigerators on the market, but also frost-free refrigerators. So, what is the difference between frosted refrigerators and frost-free refrigerators? Let’s take a look at it below. The ones with frost are the normal ones, and the ones without frost can automatically defrost. A frost-free refrigerator is not a true frost-free refrigerator. It simply uses a finned evaporator, hides the evaporator, and uses a fan to send cold air through various air ducts to various parts to achieve the purpose of cooling. It should be noted that each frost-free refrigerator has a mechanical or electronic defrost system. After the compressor has been working for a period of time (about 8-12 hours), frost will also form on the surface of the fin evaporator. If defrosting is not performed, the frost will become thicker and thicker, and then the fin evaporator will be filled with frost and the air duct will be blocked, causing the cold air to be unable to circulate and the refrigeration effect to decrease. An electric heating wire, a bimetallic temperature control and a temperature fuse are installed in the middle of the fin evaporator. During defrosting, the evaporator is heated to a certain temperature by the electric heating wire, and then the bimetallic temperature control is disconnected and refrigeration is resumed after defrosting is completed. 1) The direct cooling box needs to be defrosted manually. The frost mainly forms on the evaporator of the freezer compartment. After long-term use, the amount of frost will be large, which will affect the refrigeration effect and increase power consumption. The evaporator of the air-cooled box does not come into direct contact with food and can be defrosted automatically without manual defrosting. Generally, the defrosting is scheduled according to the accumulated running time of the compressor (the mechanical air-cooled box has a defrost timer). 2) The temperature control of each compartment of the direct cooling box is generally achieved by matching the area of the evaporator in different compartments (single system). For dual-system or multi-system direct cooling boxes, the solenoid valve is used to control the flow of refrigerant to different evaporators to achieve the purpose of temperature control. Air-cooled boxes usually have only one fin evaporator installed in the freezer compartment, and the temperature control of each compartment is generally achieved by controlling the opening and closing of the damper to meet the set requirements. 3) The direct cooling box exchanges heat through heat conduction and natural convection, and the cooling and freezing are slow and the temperature is uneven. The air-cooled box uses a fan to drive the air circulation inside the box to perform forced convection heat exchange, with a fast cooling speed, uniform temperature, and precise temperature control. 4) The air-cooled box has a fixed defrosting cycle, plus the power consumed by the motor, various heating wires, and the main control board itself, so its power consumption is generally greater than that of the refrigeration box. Also due to the rotation of the fan motor and the flow of air, the noise is generally louder than that of a direct cooling box. 5) Air cooling boxes can dry food quickly, but are generally not conducive to food preservation. Through the above introduction, we now know the difference between frost-free refrigerators and frost-free refrigerators. In fact, we will find that these two refrigerators also have their own advantages and disadvantages. When we use refrigerators in our daily lives, we must consider the advantages and disadvantages of both refrigerators, and we must also choose to use them according to our actual situation. |
