What are the symptoms of foot rot and how to classify it

There are also different types of foot rot. The common types are erosive, vesicular, and keratotic. Different types of foot ulcers have different symptoms and treatments. Patients should not rely too much on the treatment effects and should also pay attention to their foot hygiene.

The cause of foot rot is due to the invasion of the toes by epidermal fungi, trichophyton or trichophyton pedis. Trichophyton rubrum has strong resistance, is difficult to control, and is associated with the Wei Qi and body fluids. It gathers and does not disperse, causing the skin to become dry and moist. Sore feet are caused by thick stratum corneum, lack of sebum, abundant sweat glands, excessive sweating and moist feet, which are conducive to the growth and reproduction of fungi. It is also easy to infect each other when using public baths, public slippers, foot basins and towels.

Erosive foot rot

Symptoms: Often occurs between the third and fourth, and between the fourth and fifth toes. It is difficult to detect at the beginning. The initial symptom is dampness, followed by whitening, and then erosion and peeling.

Treatment: Soak the entire foot, not covering the sole, in potassium permanganate solution every day for more than 5 days.

Blister-type sore feet

Symptoms: They often appear on the forefoot. Initially, the blisters are very small and deep, difficult to detect, and gradually increase in size. The liquid in the blisters is obvious, and there is an itchy and painful feeling. Later, there will be obvious discomfort, accompanied by unbearable itching.

Treatment: After soaking your feet in hot water, apply clotrimazole or compound salicylic acid tincture externally. Choose one of the two and use it for several days.

Keratinosis of the feet

Symptoms: The disease most often occurs on the soles of the feet, especially the heels, with peeling and scaly skin. The symptoms become more obvious in the later stages.

Treatment: Apply compound benzoic acid ointment or use it alternately with compound salicylic acid alcohol, preferably twice a day. If conditions permit, you can use gauze to bandage it to allow for absorption and prevent contamination of shoes and socks.
