What are the functions of medical protective masks

The so-called medical protective masks are often used more by doctors. This type of protective mask is very effective in isolating droplets or body secretions in the air. In addition, some medical protective masks have very good adsorption effects, which can effectively isolate fine particles in the air and also isolate bacteria or viruses. Of course, medical protective masks are very effective and have relatively high technical requirements.

The dimensions of the center part of the rectangular mask when unfolded: the length is not less than 17cm, the width is not less than 17cm; the dimensions of the close-fitting arched mask: the horizontal diameter is not less than 14cm, and the vertical diameter is not less than 14cm. There should be no holes or stains on the surface of the mask; the mask should not have an exhalation valve. The mask must be equipped with a nose clip; the nose clip is made of bendable plastic material and should be no less than 8.5cm in length. The mask strap should be easy to adjust. There should be sufficient strength to fix the mask in place. The breaking strength of the connection point between each mask strap and the mask body should be no less than 10N. The particle filtration efficiency of the mask filter material should be no less than 95%.

Airflow resistance: When the gas flow rate is 85L/min, the inhalation resistance of the mask shall not exceed 35mmH2O. Synthetic blood is sprayed onto the mask sample at a pressure of 160 mmHg, and no penetration should occur on the inside of the mask. The water-wetting level of the mask should not be lower than the requirements of GB3 in GB/T4745. Masks marked as disinfection grade should comply with the requirements of 4.3.2 in GB 15980. Masks marked as sterilization grade should comply with the requirements of 4.3.2 in GB 15980. The residual ethylene oxide content of masks sterilized with ethylene oxide should not exceed 10μg/g. The materials used should not be flammable. Continued burning after removal of the flame should not exceed 5 seconds.

Generally speaking, medical masks can effectively isolate particles in the air with a diameter less than 5 microns. Medical masks generally undergo rigorous testing before being put into use. When we buy masks, we must choose products produced by regular manufacturers, so that the quality can be guaranteed and the isolation effect will be better.
