Are bacteria harmful to the human body?

When I was a child, my parents often told me to wash my hands before eating. When I asked them why, they would tell me that my hands were dirty with bacteria and I might get sick. In addition to washing hands before meals, you should also wash your hands frequently on ordinary days, because bacteria are everywhere, and bacteria will reduce the body's immunity and increase the chance of getting sick. So, are bacteria harmful to the human body?

Bacteria can be both useful and harmful to the environment, humans and animals. Some bacteria become pathogens, causing tetanus, typhoid, pneumonia, syphilis, cholera and tuberculosis. In plants, the bacteria causes leaf spot, fire blight, and wilt. Modes of infection include contact, airborne transmission, food, water and carriers of bacteria. Pathogens can be treated with antibiotics, which are divided into bactericidal and bacteriostatic types. Bacteria also have a great impact on human activities. On the one hand, bacteria are the pathogens of many diseases, including tuberculosis, gonorrhea, anthrax, syphilis, plague, trachoma and other diseases are all caused by bacteria.

The harm that bacteria bring to humans is that they cause diseases in humans, animals or crops, and they can also cause stored goods to rot and spoil, produce odors, etc. There is one most important point! The symbiotic digestive bacteria in the stomachs of ruminants produce methane when digesting food! Methane is a highly polluting greenhouse gas, which has a serious impact on the greenhouse effect.

Are bacteria harmful to the human body? Because there are many types of bacteria, and the impact of bacteria on humans is two-sided, one good and one bad, so we need to see what kind of bacteria it is. But no matter what, in daily life, because there are bacteria around us that are invisible to the naked eye, and we don’t know whether they are beneficial or harmful bacteria, we must pay attention to washing hands and changing clothes frequently, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness, and keeping our bodies healthy.
