What is the reason for the red bumps on the glans?

(4) Trichomonas balanitis causes papules and erythema on the glans penis, which gradually expand and have clear edges. Small needle-sized blisters can be seen on the erythema, and finally an erosive surface is formed.

The basic principle of Western medicine treatment is anti-inflammatory and bactericidal. Generally, both internal and external treatments are used. Erythromycin and tetracycline are the first choice for the treatment of acute superficial balanitis and annular ulcerated balanitis, usually 0.5g per dose, 4 times a day. The first choice for the treatment of trichomoniasis balanitis is metronidazole, 0.2g each time, 3 times a day, for 10 consecutive days. Trichostatin or itraconazole is commonly used to treat balanitis caused by Candida albicans. (1) Toxic fire stagnation type: The foreskin and glans penis are red and swollen, with erythema, papules, blisters or ulcers, pain, difficulty urinating, sores in the mouth and tongue, and irritability. This is due to the accumulation of toxic fire that cannot be vented. Treatment should focus on clearing heat, purging fire and detoxifying. The commonly used prescription is Daochidan plus or minus: 10g of Coptis chinensis, 10g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 10g of Gardenia jasminoides, 10g of Akebia, 10g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 10g of Lophatherum gracile, 10g of Alisma orientalis, 6g of Rhubarb, and 10g of Licorice root. Decoction in water, 1 dose per day.

(2) The damp-heat worm-infested type can be seen with redness, blisters or erosions on the glans penis, and pain in the penis; laboratory tests can show Candida albicans or Trichomonas infection; it is often accompanied by dampness and itching of the genitals, bitter and sticky mouth, and yellow and red urine. This is due to the damp-heat evil flowing into the liver meridian and causing the breeding of worms. Treatment should focus on clearing away heat and dampness, killing insects and relieving itching. The commonly used prescription is Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications: Gentiana 10g, Bupleurum 10g, Scutellaria 10g, Gardenia 10g, Plantago 10g, Alisma 10g, Akebia 10g, Smilax glabra 30g, Stemona 10g, Cyperus rotundus 10g, Heshi 10g

(3) In the liver-kidney yin deficiency type, patches, thickening, or hardening of the foreskin and glans penis may be seen. There is usually no itching or pain, but it may be accompanied by symptoms such as low back pain and premature ejaculation. This is due to damp heat or dampness toxins damaging the yin of the liver and kidneys. Treatment should focus on nourishing the liver and kidneys. The commonly used prescription is Liuwei Dihuang Decoction with modifications: 10g each of raw and cooked rehmannia, 10g of cornus fruit, 10g of yam, 10g of wolfberry, 10g of moutan bark, 20g of poria, 10g of salvia miltiorrhiza, 10g of oriental water plantain, and 30g of dandelion.
