Can vesicular herpes heal itself?

Can vesicular herpes heal itself?

Vesicular herpes is a type of herpes and is also a skin disease that poses a great threat to human skin health. This disease is generally difficult to cure. Patients need to go to the hospital for certain treatments and do corresponding care in daily life to better promote recovery from the disease. Below we will introduce in detail the treatment methods, self-care and prevention methods of vesicular herpes.

1. Treatment methods

1. General treatment

Get enough rest, eat easily digestible food, and stay hydrated. Strengthen care, keep skin clean and prevent secondary bacterial infection. Clothes, bedding, towels, dressings, etc. that have come into contact with herpes fluid should be disinfected promptly and not shared with healthy people. Patients with herpetic gingivostomatitis should keep their mouths clean and gargle with 1:1000 benzalkonium bromide solution. Patients with genital herpes should avoid sexual intercourse during treatment.

2. Symptomatic treatment

For itchy skin without ulceration, calamine lotion can be applied, and antibiotic ointment can be applied after the herpes ruptures. Patients with obvious pain from herpes zoster should be given analgesics such as indomethacin, and vitamin B1 and B12 can be taken orally or intramuscularly. In case of secondary infection, 0.5% neomycin cream or mupirocin ointment can be used externally.

3. Antiviral treatment

Nucleoside drugs are currently considered to be the most effective drugs against HSV. Acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir can be taken orally. Acyclovir ointment, penciclovir cream, etc. can be applied externally to the skin lesions.

2. Self-care

1. Don't stress too much. Some patients may develop blisters, blood blisters, or even erosions on their skin, but please don't be nervous. If treated properly, the disease will heal in about 10 days and will generally not recur after recovery.

2. Get plenty of rest, eat easily digestible food and drink plenty of water.

3. Prevent secondary bacterial infection. Do not rub the affected area to prevent the blisters from bursting. Chinese herbal medicine can be used externally to promote the drying and scabbing of blisters.

4. Elderly patients with severe cases, especially those with herpes zoster on the head and face, are best hospitalized to prevent complications.

5. Suffering from "shingles" indicates that the patient's immunity is at a low level and appropriate measures should be taken in time.

6. Some patients still have neuralgia after the skin lesions have completely disappeared. In this case, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc. can be used to relieve the pain.

7. Fatty meat, maltose, milk and sweet foods are mostly greasy and fatty, which can easily cause the damp-heat toxins of the disease to accumulate inside the body and cause the disease to linger.

8. Sour and astringent foods include peas, water chestnuts, pomegranates, taro, spinach, etc. Miao medicine believes that this disease is mostly caused by emotional distress, liver qi stagnation, long-term stagnation turning into fire, and the invasion of toxic evil, so the treatment should focus on promoting qi and blood circulation and removing blood stasis. The sour, astringent and bitter foods mentioned above can easily cause blood circulation obstruction, retention of toxins and aggravate pain.

3. Prevention methods

1. Keep your skin clean and take a bath every day. In hot weather, you can wash it 2-3 times a day. Dress appropriately and avoid sweating excessively.

2. To protect your skin from damage, keep your clothes and bedding soft. Keep your nails trimmed to avoid scratching the cuticle.

3. Avoid contact with people with skin infections and wash your hands frequently.
