Is it okay to have chronic nephritis?

I believe everyone knows how important the kidneys are to the human body, so when there is a problem with the kidneys, it must be treated in a timely manner. However, many patients with chronic nephritis find that it is difficult to get treatment when they have symptoms of the disease. Therefore, when facing chronic nephritis, early detection is the key. However, because the early symptoms of chronic nephritis are not obvious, many patients believe that the disease is not serious. So is it serious to have chronic nephritis?

Chronic glomerulonephritis, abbreviated as chronic nephritis, refers to a group of glomerular diseases with proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, and edema as the basic clinical manifestations. The onset is different, the disease is protracted, and the lesions progress slowly. The renal function may be impaired to varying degrees and will eventually develop into chronic renal failure. Due to the different pathological types and stages of the diseases in this group, the main clinical manifestations are different and the disease manifestations are diverse. If chronic nephritis is not treated properly, the rate of kidney function decline will accelerate and eventually develop into uremia, and life can only be maintained by kidney transplantation or dialysis. Chronic nephritis cannot be cured by diet therapy alone. Fatigue, infection, etc. are certain factors that cause the recurrence of the disease.

Is chronic nephritis serious?

1. Chronic nephritis can cause the urea accumulated in the human digestive system to be discharged into the digestive tract. The bacteria in the intestine will form ammonia under the action of urease, which can stimulate the gastrointestinal mucosa to cause fibrinous inflammation, ulcers and bleeding.

2. Chronic nephritis can cause edema of the heart and lungs. Long-term effects of renal hypertension on the heart can cause heart failure and pulmonary edema.

3. Chronic nephritis can cause a deficiency of erythropoietin in the hematopoietic system, and the inhibition of bone marrow hematopoietic function by various toxins can lead to the occurrence of anemia.

4. Chronic nephritis can reduce intestinal calcium absorption, causing hypocalcemia in patients. Long-term hypocalcemia can cause widespread decalcification of bone tissue, resulting in clinical manifestations such as cramps, osteoporosis, and bone pain.

5. The skin of patients with chronic nephritis is relatively dry, grayish yellow and itchy. The cause of the itching is currently unclear, but it may be related to the stimulation of nerve endings by urea.

After reading the introduction in this article, I believe that all patients should understand the question of whether chronic nephritis is a problem. Here I would like to remind all patients that the treatment cycle of chronic nephritis is relatively long, so all patients must have enough patience and cooperate with the doctor in the treatment of chronic nephritis. Only in this way can you get rid of the troubles of chronic nephritis as soon as possible.
