How should a minor facial stroke be treated?

Facial stroke is also known as minor stroke. It is not exactly the same as facial paralysis, and the face will not feel anything after a facial stroke. However, it has a relatively large impact on the patient himself. If such a phenomenon is not treated in time, it can easily lead to facial paralysis. So, how should a minor facial stroke be treated? Let’s take a brief look at it!

Body Acupuncture

(I) Acupuncture points

Main acupoints: Dicang, Shuigou, Quan? , four whites, sun, silk, bamboo, sky, yifeng, and clear eyes.

Acupoints: Hegu and Neiting.

(II) Governing Law

Each time, select 4 to 5 main points and 1 auxiliary point. Facial acupoints can be treated with the penetrating needling method, with the needles selected according to the distance between the two points to be punctured. It is advisable to insert the needle about 0.3 inches after the needle tip reaches the stop point. When inserting the needle, it is advisable to quickly puncture the skin and then slowly push the needle in. Do not lift, insert or twist the needle. The needle body should form an angle of 10 to 15 degrees with the skin, and the needle tip should point to the stop point. You can place your left thumb or index finger on the skin to feel the position, direction, and depth of the needle tip and needle body. Optimally, the needle should be placed between the muscle fibers, but not too deep. The acupoints should be pierced straightly, and the needle should be left in place after the qi is clearly felt using a small amplitude vibration method. The needles were left in place for 20 to 30 minutes. During the period of needle retention, move the needle 1 to 2 times, apply the twisting method, and achieve balanced tonification and drainage. Take once a day or every other day, 10 times as a course of treatment, with 5 to 7 days between courses.

Electroacupuncture

(I) Acupuncture points

Main acupoints: Qianzheng, Dicang, Shueigou, Yangbai, Yuyao, Yifeng, Xiaguan.

Associated acupoints: Hegu, Xingjian, Waiguan, Houxi.

Location of Qianzheng point: 0.5 inches in front of the earlobe.

(II) Governing Law

Select 2 to 3 main acupoints each time, and generally select 1 to 2 acupoints as auxiliary acupoints. If it is a sequelae, 3 to 4 acupoints should be selected. Before acupuncture, use the fingertips or palm of your left hand to massage the affected side of the face toward the base of the ear several times from light to heavy. The acupuncture method is as follows: if the forehead wrinkles disappear or become shallow, and the palpebral fissure enlarges, it is advisable to needle Yangbai downward through the fish waist, and Yingxiang upward to the underside of the orbit; if the nasolabial groove becomes shallow, and the corners of the mouth are drooping and crooked, needle Dicang through the cheek car; and deep needle should be inserted into the temple. The negative electrode can be connected to the area where the symptoms are obvious; the positive electrode can be connected to the temple. If it is a sequela of facial paralysis, the double Xiaguan acupoints can be connected. Use slow waves, and the current intensity should be appropriate to cause mild facial twitching. It has been observed that electroacupuncture treatment is most effective when applied 15 days after onset of the disease. If electroacupuncture is used in the early stage, the duration of electricity should be controlled at about 5 to 10 minutes. If the course of the disease exceeds half a month, the duration of electricity can be extended to 15 minutes. You can also first receive 5 to 7 acupuncture treatments after becoming ill, and then add electroacupuncture to facilitate recovery. Electroacupuncture is performed once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, with 3 to 5 days between courses.
