What causes blood in the nose?

What causes blood in the nose?

I believe many people will be scared when blood appears in the nostrils. The nose is not only a symbol of beauty, but many diseases can also be manifested through problems with the nostrils. The most typical ones are leukemia, rhinitis, etc., and the appearance of blood in the nostrils may also be an indication of disease. So for the sake of your health, if this kind of situation occurs, it is recommended to go to the hospital for a check-up immediately. Next, let me describe to you what is going on when there is blood in the nostrils?

1. Nasal capillary dilation: The symptoms of the disease are: obvious bloodshot eyes on both sides of the nose. Patients with severe disease may develop chronic inflammatory skin lesions on the nose, which mostly occur in middle-aged men. It usually presents as redness on the external nasal skin, most notably at the tip of the nose. The capillaries in the nose are obviously dilated, and sometimes you can see the dilated small blood vessels in a branch-like shape through the skin. Due to the vigorous secretion of local sebaceous glands, the nose appears red and bright. As the disease progresses, the skin may proliferate and thicken, and even develop rashes or small pustules, and the appearance may become rough and uneven, forming "rosacea".

2. The nose is the reflex area of the spleen and stomach. The tip of the nose is the spleen, and the two wings are the stomach. When the spleen and stomach functions decline, the nose will show signs of this. Based on clinical experience, red blood streaks on the wings of your nose indicate that you have varicose veins in your stomach. Don't think that varicose veins only appear in the legs, they can also occur in the internal organs. Red blood streaks are the result of dilation of facial capillaries, not thinning of the skin. The facial flushing caused by temporary capillary dilation will return to normal after a while. However, if it recurs over a long period of time, it may lead to persistent redness of the cheeks. Long-term continuous capillary dilation will cause red blood streaks. You can see branch-like red blood streaks on your cheeks, especially on both sides of the nose. This is the result of obvious dilation of capillaries. Sometimes you can see the dilated small blood vessels in branch-like shape through the skin. Due to the vigorous secretion of local sebaceous glands, the nose appears red and bright. As the disease progresses, the skin may proliferate and thicken, and even develop rashes or small pustules, and the appearance may become rough and uneven, forming "rosacea".

3. The nose was hit. Excessively dry weather (causing the nasal membrane to crack), sudden changes in air pressure, picking the nose with fingernails, or blowing the nose too hard can also injure the nasal mucosa and cause bleeding. For some people, nosebleeds will drip blood onto their mouths, chins, and clothes, which looks quite scary. There are two types of bloody runny nose: anterior and posterior. The posterior type mainly affects the elderly, especially those with hypertension. In this type, blood flows from the back of the nose, down the back of the mouth and into the throat, regardless of the patient's position. In severe cases, the direction of blood flow may be both front and back. This type of nosebleed requires hospital attention.

If you often have blood in your nostrils, it is recommended that you treat your nostrils first, and then go to the hospital for a check-up to see where the problem is. Below are the diseases I have listed that cause blood in the nostrils, and some physiological changes that occur under normal circumstances.
