What is the cause of right pleural effusion?

What is the cause of right pleural effusion?

Right-sided pleural effusion is a relatively common disease, and it is often accompanied by fever, chest pain and other symptoms when it occurs. Patients with more serious conditions often have difficulty breathing. Therefore, this type of disease has a great impact on the patients themselves. Patients must have some understanding of its causes so that they can better treat it. Let us take a brief look at it below!

1. The hydrostatic pressure in the pleural capillaries increases, thus forming pleural effusion. Can pleural effusion be cured? For example, congestive heart failure, constrictive pericarditis, increased blood volume, obstruction of the superior vena cava or azygos vein can produce pleural transudate.

2. Increased permeability of pleural capillaries, which is the second reason for the formation of pleural effusion, such as pleural inflammation (tuberculosis pneumonia), connective tissue disease (systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis), pleural tumors (mesothelioma, malignant tumor metastasis), pulmonary infarction, subphrenic inflammation (subphrenic abscess, liver abscess, acute pancreatitis), etc., can cause pleural effusion.

3. The colloidal osmotic pressure in the pleural capillaries decreases, such as in hypoproteinemia, cirrhosis, nephrotic syndrome, acute glomerulonephritis, myxedema, etc., resulting in pleural effusion.

4. Impairment of parietal pleural lymphatic drainage, cancer, lymphatic vessel obstruction, developmental lymphatic drainage abnormalities, etc., can cause pleural effusion.

Five injuries caused by intrathoracic bleeding, aortic aneurysm rupture, esophageal rupture, thoracic duct rupture, etc., resulting in hemothorax, empyema, and chylothorax.

The above is an introduction to the causes of right-sided pleural effusion. If such a phenomenon occurs, the patient must seek timely treatment to avoid friction during breathing, so that the feeling of chest pain will gradually ease. Patients should not speak too loudly, as it will have a great impact on themselves, so you must pay attention.
