What are the treatments for acute asthma attacks?

Asthma is very common in our daily life, and this disease is also very fierce. Many friends don’t know how to deal with it when it occurs, especially when asthma attacks acutely. If it is not handled well, a series of problems will easily arise. So, what are the treatment methods for acute asthma attacks?

1. When the disease occurs, the patient will feel nervous, irritable, and fearful. At this time, the rescue personnel must remain calm, stay by the patient's side, comfort the patient, and make him relax as much as possible. If the patient is wearing tight clothing, he should remove it or unbutton it. Keep the area around the patient quiet and clean, avoid crowds of people, and make sure the patient remains warm. If you lose consciousness or your asthma does not improve within a short period of time, you should seek medical attention immediately or call emergency services for help. Do not blindly carry the person to the hospital, as doing so will compress the patient's chest, hinder his or her breathing, and may even be fatal in severe cases.

2. When asthma attacks, the patient will feel a swelling and coldness in the back. You can massage the patient's back with your hands to make him feel comfortable, and use suggestion, induction and other methods to

It relaxes the patient's body and mind and gradually stabilizes his emotions.

3. You also need to help him adjust to a comfortable position, such as squatting, sitting or semi-lying, with his head raised and his arms slightly stretched.

4. In case of acute attack, the patient should be given oxygen if possible. The inhaled oxygen concentration should be 25%-30%, which is equivalent to an oxygen flow rate of 1-2 liters/minute. Immediately use antispasmodic and antiasthmatic drugs, such as aminophylline, theophylline, etc. Keep the patient's airway open. If thick sputum causes sputum plugging and aggravates breathing difficulties, or if obvious cyanosis and unconsciousness occur, perform tracheotomy or endotracheal intubation to clear the sputum plugging and reduce dead space.

Mild bronchial asthma: The subjective symptoms are mild, with shortness of breath felt only when walking. The patient is free in body position and can lie flat and have continuous conversations. Only slight wheezing sounds can be heard and the breathing feels slightly short, but the patient is calm or slightly anxious.

Moderate bronchial asthma: The patient feels shortness of breath and difficulty, especially with the slightest activity; prefers to sit; speaks in short sentences during conversation; wheezing can be heard; breathes rapidly; is sometimes anxious and irritable, and has excessive sweating.

Severe bronchial asthma; breathing difficulty is not obvious, even when resting, the patient feels shortness of breath and faster breathing, leans forward when sitting, can only utter fragmentary words, and widespread wheezing can be heard. They often feel anxious and irritable, sweat profusely, and even have cyanosis of the lips and nails.

Critical condition: Drowsiness and even confusion occur.

Through the above introduction, I believe everyone has a detailed understanding of the acute treatment methods of asthma. Patients must do a good job of health care in a timely manner in daily life. If the health care work is not done well, then the acute attack will easily lead to death, so be sure to pay attention to take some preventive measures in advance.
