Why has my stool been bleeding recently?

Autumn and winter are the two driest seasons of the year. Flowers and plants wither due to dryness, and birds and animals choose to hibernate due to lack of water. We humans will also develop a series of physical illnesses due to dryness, such as peeling skin, dead skin, constipation, hemorrhoids, etc., which will cause considerable trouble to our lives. Constipation, in particular, can easily lead to hemorrhoids. So, why does the stool bleed?

The common cause of bloody stools is constipation. The causes of constipation are as follows: (1) Intestinal stenosis or obstruction caused by organic lesions of the intestine, tumors, inflammation or other reasons.

(2) Rectal and anal diseases: rectal prolapse, hemorrhoids, rectocele, puborectalis hypertrophy, puborectalis separation, pelvic floor disease, etc.

(3) Endocrine or metabolic diseases: diabetes, hypothyroidism, parathyroid disease, etc.

(4) Systemic diseases such as scleroderma and lupus erythematosus.

(5) Nervous system diseases: central brain diseases, stroke, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, and peripheral neuropathy, etc.

(6) Intestinal smooth muscle or neurogenic lesions.

(7) Colonic neuromuscular disease, intestinal pseudo-obstruction, congenital megacolon, megarectum, etc.

(8) Neuropsychological disorders.

Other causes

① Failure to develop a habit of regular bowel movements and ignoring the normal urge to defecate will inhibit the defecation reflex, leading to constipation over time.

② The diet is too refined and lacks dietary fiber. Due to the lack of fiber, the stool volume is reduced, the viscosity is increased, the movement in the intestine is slow, and excessive water is absorbed, leading to constipation.

③ Insufficient fluid intake.

④ Obesity and inactivity, mainly due to illness, bedridden or wheelchair-bound, lack of exercise stimulation to promote the movement of feces, eating itself cannot push the feces forward, and must rely on the help of medical staff to induce the urge to defecate. If the patient has the urge to defecate, the opportunity to defecate cannot be provided, and the urge to defecate disappears, it is not easy to defecate.

⑤ Endure the inconvenience. If you endure the inconvenience frequently, you will eventually suffer from constipation. As the large intestine gives up again and again, its response to the signals of urge to defecate becomes slower and slower. Gradually, the urge to defecate disappears, and in severe cases, there is even no desire to defecate.

In other senses, constipation is usually caused by autoimmune conditions, and secondly, it is directly or indirectly related to daily eating habits, such as foods that are easy to cause internal heat and are not conducive to stomach digestion.

Since there are so many causes of constipation, we must pay more attention to prevention in our daily lives. Drinking more water, eating more easily digestible and residue-free foods, maintaining a regular schedule, avoiding staying up late, and other measures are all conducive to bowel movements. As long as the above points are strictly followed, people with constipation will completely get rid of this embarrassing problem.
