Many people will encounter situations where they are bitten by fish while raising fish. Most people believe that fish do not carry germs like other mammals, so they just bandage the wound and leave it alone. In fact, this is wrong. Because there is special digestive fluid in the fish's mouth, it is easy to cause swelling of the wound. Especially some tropical fish, which are more aggressive, need to be fed with caution. After being bitten or stabbed by a fish, tie the upper end of the wound in time, release it after half a minute, and squeeze out the blood or venom at the same time. If conditions permit, you should get a tetanus shot, or go to the hospital for local incision and drainage. So what should you do if you are bitten by a pet? 1. Wound management Treat it as an infected wound, clean the wound thoroughly with 3% hydrogen peroxide, and then rinse with 0.9% saline. Local wounds are not sutured or bandaged, and powder is not applied to facilitate wound detoxification. For severe bites that are large and deep, local blood circulation and sensation should be closely observed, and symptomatic treatment should be given. If sutures or bandages are required, drainage should not be hindered, and adequate flushing and disinfection should be ensured. 2. Vaccination Vaccination with rabies vaccine and tetanus injection. The vaccine is administered using a five-injection immunization method, with vaccinations given on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 14th and 28th days after the bite, one injection each time, which can be injected intramuscularly on the front of the thigh. If the patient's condition is more serious, 10 injections of vaccine can be given, one injection per day from the 1st to the 6th day after being bitten, for a total of 6 injections. The remaining 4 injections are given on the 10th, 14th, 30th and 90th days respectively. Give an injection into the buttock muscle. Before injecting 1500u tetanus antitoxin, a test should be conducted first. If the result is negative, it should be injected into the buttocks muscle. If the result is positive, desensitization treatment can be performed. 3. Pay attention to the following in life: ①Pet owners: Understand the relevant knowledge and dangers of rabies, strictly manage your pets, regularly go to the government-designated epidemic prevention department for vaccination, and refrain from letting your pets roam freely to avoid harming others. Once bitten by a pet, seek medical attention in time to treat the wound, and receive TAT injections and PHKV vaccinations. ② Preschool children are more likely to be bitten by pets due to their lack of self-protection awareness. Parents should fulfill their guardianship obligations, avoid sleeping with pets, and do not provoke stray dogs and cats at will. ③During the vaccination period, you should avoid tobacco, alcohol, strong tea, spicy food, strenuous exercise and excessive fatigue. You should eat a high-protein, low-fat, high-sugar, high-calorie, high-vitamin, high-calcium and easily digestible diet. |
