Methods for preventing diseases in autumn

Autumn is the season of alternating cold and hot weather. Due to the dry climate and changeable temperatures, it is difficult for the human body to adapt, making it very easy to get sick or have old diseases relapse. Therefore, we must pay attention to health care and disease prevention after autumn. There are many common and frequently occurring diseases that need to be prevented in autumn. Here I will introduce some methods to prevent diseases in autumn, so that we can stay away from diseases and stay healthy forever.

1. Gastrointestinal diseases. In autumn, the sky is high and the air is crisp, and people's appetite increases. Eating and drinking too much can easily increase the burden on the gastrointestinal tract and cause functional disorders. The climate is changeable, with a large temperature difference between day and night, which can easily cause the abdomen to catch a cold, resulting in increased intestinal motility and leading to diarrhea. The key to preventing autumn diarrhea is to maintain the spleen and stomach and prevent recurrence of stomach problems.

2. Autumn dryness syndrome. In autumn, there is little rain and the weather is dry. The air lacks moisture, and people are prone to a series of dryness symptoms such as dry nasopharynx, hoarseness, dry cough with little sputum, thirst and constipation, commonly known as "autumn dryness syndrome." Autumn dryness not only makes people feel uncomfortable, but also induces many infectious diseases, such as colds, boils, rhinitis, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to nourish yin and prevent dryness in autumn. In terms of diet, it is advisable to drink boiled water and vegetable soup regularly, eat more moisturizing foods such as pears, grapes, bananas, white fungus, and green vegetables, and eat less spicy and dry foods such as peppers, onions, ginger, and garlic; in daily life, you should go to bed early and get up early. Go to bed early to nourish yin, get up early to relax the lungs, breathe fresh air, so that the body has sufficient fluids and is full of energy.

3. Respiratory tract infection. The climate in autumn is changeable, with large temperature differences between morning, noon, evening, and indoors and outdoors. The respiratory mucosa is constantly stimulated by sudden changes in temperature, which weakens the resistance and provides an opportunity for pathogenic microorganisms to take advantage. It is very easy for people to catch colds, and it can also cause tonsillitis, tracheitis and pneumonia. Patients with chronic bronchitis and asthma often have worsening symptoms. Therefore, in the autumn, we should pay attention to weather changes, add or remove clothes in time, increase outdoor activities, and enhance the body's resistance.

4. Cardiovascular disease. Autumn is a high-incidence season for cardiovascular diseases. As the weather gets cooler, blood vessels in the skin and subcutaneous tissue contract, peripheral vascular resistance increases, and blood pressure rises. Cold can also cause coronary artery spasm, directly affecting the blood supply to the heart and inducing angina pectoris or myocardial infarction. Therefore, cardiovascular patients should take medication regularly, exercise as much as they can, and actively prevent and treat colds to avoid triggering and aggravating cardiovascular disease. 1. Colds: The climate changes abnormally in autumn, with rapid season transitions. There is a large temperature difference between morning, noon, and evening, and between indoors and outdoors. The respiratory mucosa is constantly stimulated by sudden changes in temperature, and the resistance is weakened, providing an opportunity for pathogenic microorganisms. It is a peak season for upper respiratory tract infections such as colds. Especially when the working environment is poorly ventilated, colds are more likely to spread quickly from person to person. The elderly and children are susceptible to autumn colds.

Influenza (flu) is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza virus. The incubation period of influenza is short, usually 1-2 days. The main symptoms are high fever, headache, tearing, runny nose, sore limbs, etc. Some cases may be complicated by pneumonia. Influenza is mainly transmitted through the respiratory tract, is highly contagious, spreads rapidly, and is prone to occur in collective units. There is a seasonal peak in incidence every winter. Influenza or upper respiratory tract infections are prone to occur during the alternating cold and warm seasons. Prevention and treatment: Preventive measures include keeping warm; increasing physical exercise; reducing visits to public places or places with turbid air during the influenza epidemic season; families and schools and other collective units should frequently open windows for ventilation to maintain air circulation; now is the time for influenza vaccination, and people with chronic diseases, the elderly, and the weak can use influenza vaccines for immunization and prevention. If you experience flu symptoms, you should seek medical treatment and rest promptly.

To prevent colds, we must first follow the rules of "cover in spring and keep warm in autumn" and "start cold resistance training in autumn", and pay attention to choosing clothes according to temperature changes; increase outdoor activities, strengthen physical fitness, it is crucial to maintain good ventilation in the working environment, and try to avoid going to public places. You should drink more water and eat more fruits to enhance your body's metabolism; washing your face with cold water frequently can also help prevent colds. Try to avoid contact with people with colds. Wash your hands after contact with people with colds or things they have touched, and keep your fingers away from your eyes and nose. When the cold is prevalent, you can use aged vinegar to fumigate the room.
