I used to drink too much and damaged my stomach. One time, the doctor asked me to do a gastroscopy, but I didn’t know the dangers and agreed readily. I went to the hospital on an empty stomach the next day. I didn't expect that the gastroscopy would be done from the mouth through the intestines to the stomach. After the operation, I couldn't eat for several days. I heard that now it is no longer so painful to have a stomach check. Here we introduce the advantages and application scope of electronic fiber laryngoscope. 1. Fiberoptic laryngoscopy Fiberoptic laryngoscope is a soft endoscope made of optical fiber. It has the advantages of being flexible, operable under surface anesthesia, and capable of performing biopsies or other treatments simultaneously. During fiberoptic laryngoscopy, after the surface of the nasal mucosa, oropharynx and laryngeal mucosa is anesthetized, the tube is inserted into the nasal cavity to examine the larynx and laryngopharynx. When laryngeal cancer is suspected, a biopsy can be performed at the same time, as well as minor surgeries such as polyp removal and foreign body removal. It has extensive clinical applications. 2. Electronic laryngoscopy Electronic laryngoscope is a new type of flexible endoscope developed in recent years. Its appearance is similar to that of fiber laryngoscope, but its image quality is significantly improved compared with that of fiber laryngoscope. The electronic laryngoscope uses the CCD on its front end to form an image, which has the following advantages: ① The image is clear; ② The locking button on the handle of the electronic laryngoscope can lock the image at the moment, just like taking a photo, so that images with diagnostic significance can be saved at any time; ③ It can be connected to a computer to store images for review at any time and print them out as pictures. Remote consultation can be performed for difficult or special cases. 3. Four major advantages of electronic fiber laryngoscope: 1. The image is clear and much clearer than the fiber laryngoscope that is widely used now. The doctor can clearly see all parts of the throat and nasopharynx. 2. The patient feels basically no pain during the examination. 3. Laryngeal diseases can be treated under electronic laryngoscope, such as removal of vocal cord polyps and nodules. 4. The results of each inspection can be backed up and archived. 4. Scope of application of electronic fiber laryngoscope: Hoarseness, coughing up bloody sputum; bloody mucus, tinnitus, hearing loss; nasal congestion, purulent mucus, headache; cervical lymphadenopathy, or breathing difficulties; suspected foreign bodies in the nose, pharynx, or larynx; short neck, enlarged tongue, or difficulty with indirect laryngoscopy; snoring during sleep and long-term mouth breathing; those who are undergoing cancer prevention screening or searching for primary cancer lesions; those who need surgery for small benign throat tumors (such as small polyps, cysts, papilloma, etc.) or nodules. |
