Therefore, the average for mixed food is 4-5 hours.

The rate of gastric emptying is also proportional to the amount of food eaten. If there are 100 ml of chyme in the stomach, about 5 ml will be discharged per minute. When the chyme capacity in the stomach reaches 500 ml, 15 ml can be discharged per minute.

After the stomach's contents are emptied, the stomach begins to contract. This is a relatively violent contraction that starts from the cardia and moves toward the pylorus. This contraction makes you feel hungry; a signal that it is time to eat.

We know that at any given time, there is always a certain amount of liquid and gas in the stomach. The liquid is generally gastric digestive juice secreted by the gastric mucosa, and the amount is not too much. Gas is usually swallowed along with food when eating. In this way, the liquid and gas in the stomach will be squeezed and kneaded, running around when the stomach wall contracts violently, just like when we wash clothes, if there is a certain amount of air in the clothes, when we rub them in the water, a gurgling sound will appear.
