How dirty is soap? Be careful of germs coming from soap

Soap is one of the common daily necessities and can be seen everywhere in our lives. Normally, we use soap when washing hands, washing clothes, and even taking a bath and washing our face, because soap has the function of washing and removing dirt, and can help us effectively resist the invasion of bacteria. But you may not know that soap can also easily breed bacteria.

Bacteria can also live on soap

Although soap can remove dirt, there are also a lot of bacteria on the soap itself. It's just that the bacteria on the soap are less likely to make people sick or cause skin infections.

The bacteria on soap may not seem harmful, but they should not be ignored. Otherwise, when the body's immunity decreases, bacteria may "take advantage of the opportunity" and endanger health.

Keep the soap in a dry place

It should be noted that bacteria particularly like to appear on soap that has become sticky due to being wet with water. Just do some simple things to avoid bacteria on soap from causing harm to the human body, such as rinsing the soap with tap water before using it; store the soap in a dry place, especially not in a wet bathtub. A dry environment can ensure that bacteria cannot grow and multiply.

Generally speaking, only people with compromised immune systems need to be extra cautious, and it is best for such people to use hand sanitizer. If you have a healthy body, you don't need to worry too much about the impact of bacteria on soap on your health.

Pay more attention to soap hygiene in public places

In public places like public toilets, if there are no other cleaning products except soap to wash hands after using the toilet, be sure to rinse with tap water before using soap, and wash your hands for 20-30 seconds.

When washing your hands, scrub from both sides of your hands to your wrists, and don't miss the area under your nails, as this is where dirt and grime are most likely to accumulate. As long as you wash your hands long enough, the bacteria on the soap will be washed away as well.
