What to do if your hands and feet are cold in autumn

Many friends have cold hands and feet in the autumn season, and even worse, in the hot summer. Long-term cold hands and feet not only bring great troubles to daily life, but also threaten the health of the body. So how can we regulate the cold hands and feet?

Women who are thin and have a weak constitution are most likely to have cold hands and feet, because this type of people has poor peripheral blood circulation, which can easily disrupt the body temperature regulation mechanism. Cold hands and feet are caused by the poor regulation of the autonomic nervous system and the thinning of blood vessels.

Food is a very important source of calories for the body. If you lose too much weight, are too hungry, or your blood sugar is too low, you will have cold hands and feet. During menopause, women's estrogen levels drop, which leads to neurovascular instability, affects blood circulation, and also makes women abnormally afraid of cold.

Recipe 1: Rub the Yongquan acupoint

The most important massage method to relieve cold hands and feet is the Yongquan point on the sole of the foot, which is the starting point of the kidney meridian. When massaging, you can rub the soles of your feet with your palms to guide the fire back to the origin, and rub until it becomes hot. Generally 5 to 10 minutes is enough, or you can rub the Yongquan point 100 times every morning and evening, and then rub each toe 100 times.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, many of the body's meridians converge at the soles of the feet and are closely related to all the internal organs, tissues, and organs in the body. In particular, stimulating the Yongquan acupoint is beneficial for nourishing the kidneys, strengthening yang, and strengthening tendons and bones. Persistently rubbing this point will relieve the symptoms of cold hands and feet.

Recipe 2: Soak your feet every day

Foot soaking is the most effective method. Add 40-degree hot water to a deep basin and let the water cover your ankles. After soaking for about 20 minutes, you will feel warm all over your body, which means that your body starts to heat up after the blood circulation is smooth. The effect will be better if you rub your feet while soaking them.

In addition, people who easily have cold hands and feet should eat more black foods. Black foods contain a lot of trace elements and vitamins, such as vitamin A, β-carotene, niacin, etc. The scientific name of the melanin in black foods is "anthocyanin", which has a strong antioxidant effect, removes active oxygen in the body, can nourish the kidneys and warm the body, and prevent aging. Such as black rice, black buckwheat, black dates, black beans, black sesame, and black fungus.

People with cold hands and feet generally don’t like to exercise, so they should keep moving regularly. Brisk walking, jogging, skipping rope, practicing Tai Chi, climbing stairs, jumping on the spot, etc. are all effective methods that will warm up your whole body. People who often wash their hands and face with cold water generally have a stronger ability to withstand cold weather and are less likely to have cold hands and feet.
