Do you know the 10 "disgusting" things in your body?

Do you know the 10 "disgusting" things in your body?

The digestive system is often thought of as the grossest part of the human body, but your body is actually doing a lot of gross things all the time without you even realizing it. You may be secreting calcium oxalate (a component of kidney stones), sweating, secreting eye mucus, and possibly pus. In addition, there is undigested or partially digested food in your intestines. You have more bacteria in your body than human cells. Take it slow, let's first talk about the mites that are having sex in your eyelashes.

10. Eyelash mites

There's no need to call an exterminator or spray your eyelashes with insecticide; mites are very common and, for the most part, harmless. There are a lot of mites living in your eyelashes, and as you age, your skin becomes oilier. More than 80% of people over 60 have their eyelashes infested with mites, especially Demodex.

Demodex mites live on the face, and if you could see mites with your naked eye, you'd find them at the base of your eyelashes and in your hair follicles. There are about 25 mites in the follicle of each eyelash. There is no evidence that these hair follicle invaders are harmful; they often just cause allergic reactions.

9. Earwax

North Americans spend a total of $60 million a year on home ear cleaning products, and about 12 million people go to the hospital every year to see a doctor to remove earwax (some even go to the spa to use weird methods to remove earwax), but in fact, our ear canal can theoretically clean itself.

Greasy, waxy earwax is a secretion from glands in the ear canal and is the ear's way of protecting itself. Earwax prevents dust, bugs and other things from entering your ears. In addition, earwax can lubricate the ear canal, reduce ear irritation and even have antibacterial effects.

8. Lipoma

Your body stores excess energy as fat as part of normal functioning, but sometimes fat cells grow where they shouldn't. The result is a lipoma. While some people may find them gross, they are actually mostly harmless.

Lipomas are small, round masses beneath the skin, between the skin and the muscle. These small pieces feel soft, like dough or rubber. If you poke them with your hand they will move left or right (try it, it won't hurt). Generally, lipomas are no more than a few centimeters in size and most grow on the neck, shoulders, arms, back, thighs, and buttocks.

7. Boogers

Boogers exist for a reason, and that reason is mucus. Mucus is a sticky fluid that lining your nose, mouth, sinuses, throat, lungs, and gastrointestinal tract. Mucus is always there, not just when you have a cold. Your body produces about one to two liters of mucus every day, and the mucus in your nose is replaced every 20 minutes.

The function of mucus is lubrication. Without mucus, the body will become dry. Because mucus is sticky, it also collects trash, preventing bacteria and small particles (pollen, dust, smoke, and other things you breathe in) from invading your body.

6. Bacteria

A healthy human body is actually less human than you think. You have at least ten times as many microbial cells (bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms) in your body as human cells. All told, you may have 100 trillion microbes living in your body's nooks and crannies right now.

Less than 1% of the microorganisms in the human body can cause disease, and the rest can help the body function. For example, Lactobacillus acidophilus, which is often touted in yogurt advertisements, can help the body digest food while fighting the 1% of bad microorganisms.

5. Gas

The black parts in the above picture are all gas. Everyone burps and farts, it's inevitable. If you eat, the bacteria in your digestive system produce gas as they digest the food. On average, you pass gas 14 to 23 times a day. So you burp or fart every hour.

Farts and burps contain carbon dioxide, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, and sometimes methane or sulfur (only in farts). Some foods can cause your body to produce more gas, including foods that contain sugar and foods high in fiber, such as beans. Some people also experience more gas when they eat wheat or dairy products because their bodies are unable to digest these foods. Sometimes flatulence is simply caused by swallowing gas.

4. Vomiting

The stomach normally holds about 3 liters of chewed food and drink. If you reach that limit, you’ll feel it after you eat. Some studies suggest that the stomach can stretch and hold more than 3 liters of food and fluid, and if it exceeds 5 liters, the stomach will begin to rupture.

If your stomach decides to close the entrance, your food and drink cannot enter normally and are forced back into your mouth. There is a "vomiting center" in the brain that specifically manages the activity of vomiting. Many things can trigger the brain to send the command to vomit, including foodborne illness (most food poisoning is caused by microorganisms, viruses, or parasites), infection, some diseases, or pregnancy. It can also be a side effect of some medications or medical treatments (such as chemotherapy).

Even if you don't or can't vomit, your body can still process these unwelcome contents of your stomach. The stomach will open up completely and leak something into your body. (Suddenly I feel like vomiting would be better, right?).

3. Tonsil stones

Tonsil stones are not caused by residual food. They are formed by microorganisms, dead cells and mucus that are "detained" by the tonsils, which means that your tonsils are like pockets.

If you have chronic tonsillitis or have ever had tonsillitis, you may be at risk for tonsil stones. People with dry mouth are also more likely to develop this condition. When the debris inside the tonsils dries up, some people don't feel it, but others will feel uncomfortable (at this time you can see the tonsils turn white and become larger), and it will also cause discomfort in the throat and ears. Tonsil stones can also cause bad breath because microorganisms like to eat the components of tonsil stones.

You can remove the stones yourself, using a swab or mouth rinse, but the rinse should not contain alcohol because alcohol can cause dry mouth. The only way to eliminate them is a tonsillectomy.

2. Shit

You can fill your stomach with all kinds of stuff, but eventually, it all comes out as shit.

When you eat or drink something, your body only has a few hours to absorb the nutrients and vitamins it needs, and the rest of course has to be secreted. You have various intestines, the small one is about 20 feet long and about 1.5 inches in diameter. The large intestine is undoubtedly much longer than you think, about 1.5 meters long and 7.6 centimeters in diameter. Altogether the intestine is about as long as your garden drain pipe and is filled with waste.

Your poop is made up of undigested food, along with some microorganisms and dead cells, which combine to form brown poop. The largest component of stool is water, about 75%. Our bodies excrete 3 to 8 ounces of water every day. Want to know how much? An iPhone 5 is about 4 ounces.

1. Acids that can dissolve metals

Gastric acid in the digestive system is a key component in digesting food. When hydrogen and chlorine combine in the stomach, they form hydrochloric acid. Yes, the same hydrochloric acid used in fertilizers and dyes.

If your stomach acid is strong enough to melt metal, why doesn't your stomach digest itself? The answer is mucus. Mucus covers the surface of the stomach, protecting it from stomach acid that destroys food. Thank you, slime!
