What is the cause of increased r-glutamyl transpeptidase?

With the continuous improvement of actual dietary standards, many people often do not pay attention to their eating habits and overeating will easily lead to some physical diseases. R-glutamyl transpeptidase is a kind of tissue cell belonging to the human body. When r-glutamyl transpeptidase increases, it will easily lead to some physical diseases. There are many reasons for the increase of r-glutamyl transpeptidase in the body. Frequent alcoholism will easily lead to liver disease and increase r-glutamyl transpeptidase in the body.

Causes of elevated glutamyl transpeptidase

Addicted to alcohol. For people who are addicted to alcohol for a long time, alcohol can damage the liver and cause high levels of glutamyl transpeptidase. At the same time, alcoholic patients are prone to alcoholic fatty liver.

Take high-protein supplements. Normal people are prone to high levels of glutamyl transpeptidase after taking high-protein supplements. The main reason is that high-protein supplements increase the burden on the liver. At this time, you just need to improve your eating habits.

Certain medications cause it. If you have been taking certain medications recently and your liver function test shows that your aminoacyl transpeptidase level is high, it is very likely that the medication has increased the burden on the liver, causing the aminoacyl transpeptidase level to be high. At this time, the condition will return to normal after stopping the medication.

Liver disease. The liver diseases that lead to high glutamyl transpeptidase levels mainly include viral hepatitis (hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc.), fatty liver, alcoholic liver, secondary liver disease, ascites, cirrhosis, liver cancer, etc. The cause of the disease is the hypersynthesis of hepatic enzymes in hepatocytes adjacent to the necrotic area, which causes an increase in serum glutamyl transpeptidase. Liver disease patients with long-term elevated glutamyl transpeptidase may be prone to liver necrosis.

Kidney disease. The kidney diseases that lead to high glutamyl transpeptidase levels mainly include nephritis, hydronephrosis, and renal tuberculosis. Because glutamyl transpeptidase is mainly present in the kidneys, it is common for glutamyl transpeptidase to be abnormal when there are kidney problems, and the cause needs to be identified in time.

The normal range of glutamyl transpeptidase is 3 to 50 U/L.

The normal reference value of aspartate aminotransferase in the human body is 0~40U/L. If the aspartate aminotransferase exceeds 0~40U/L, it indicates liver damage and abnormal liver function. There are many clinical causes of high aspartate aminotransferase, which can be divided into the following three types:

1. Elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase are also found in healthy people

In healthy people, transient elevation of aspartate aminotransferase may occur in situations such as acute soft tissue injury, strenuous exercise, and pregnancy.

2. Heart disease

Since the content of aspartate aminotransferase is highest in myocardial cells, acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, and heart failure will cause an increase in alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, which is also one of the reasons for the increase in aspartate aminotransferase.

3. Liver cell damage

1. Liver cell damage caused by viral hepatitis is the most common cause of elevated aspartate aminotransferase. All types of acute and chronic viral hepatitis can significantly increase aspartate aminotransferase.

2. Liver cell damage caused by toxic hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis and liver cancer, biliary tract disease, etc. can also lead to elevated aspartate aminotransferase.

3. Damage to liver cells caused by certain infectious diseases is also one of the reasons for elevated aspartate aminotransferase, such as pneumonia, typhoid fever, tuberculosis, infectious mononucleosis, etc.
